I want to see all of your pictures with your soob loaded up with whatever. Can someone top this much stuff being hauled by your roo and actually be able to drive?

 

So I snapped this picture driving out to 11 mile canyon (CO) last year but just got around to posting it. Fess up if it was you driving. I dont think I have ever seen so much stuff cramed onto a brat, AMAZING.

whats more inportant, why do brats always come with tons of bumper stickers? or subarus in general, every one i've ever bought had a darwin fish, or a jesus fish, along with several political/religious bumper stickers, that brat covers all of them!

im diggin the homade table roof rack?. lol

Well, the volume wasn't exceptional, but the weight was significant. On this trip we had:

 

1. Cast iron wood stove (est. 400lbs)

2. Me (est. 250 lbs)

3. My pregnant wife (not going there)

4. My 2.5 year old son (est. 30 lbs)

5. Hand truck (est. 40 lbs)

6. A case of oil (est. 24 lbs)

7. Two cases of Russell Stover chocolate bunnies (est. 20 lbs)

8. Normal stuff like tools, baling twine, extra automotive tools, etc.

 

And yep, we've got the bumper sticker thing covered too

 

I wish i'd taken a photo of mine when I was towing a lwb suzuki vitara/escudo on a trailer with it..... didn't like that much..... ~1200kg at a guess for the zuk, and ~500kg for the trailer....

In the bed of the girl, is an 14" electronic bandsaw w/stand

a tool bag, a tool box and an antique drill press (about 50#)

Plus the fiberglass bed cap.

The trailer is 0.25" steel diamond plate (read heavy),

superwinch and battery mounted in black box,

sled weighs about two hundred I guess.

Who says they can't haul nuttin' ???

My new/used burr king not heavy but very bulky

 

 

I think there was 2 engines a transmission, 200lbs of lead, oh and 2 bikes. Made the front end so light had to 4wd it up a steep part of a dirt road.

You can't see very well in the photo because the main focus of it (the BRAT) is in the way, but the Legacy in the back is filled all the way up including the front passenger seat with that computer stuff. That's a fairly loose load too. When you get all identical towers you can really pack in quite the number of machines. All of our Subarus have made countless runs of that stuff.

 

On a side note: KITTY!!

 

Not impressive, but certainly my favorite. A futon mattress making my heater-less, AC-less, cruise control-less, power anything-less '81 the best for long trips. :-p

couldnt get pics but bout 3 weeks ago i hauled my parents washer and dryer machines. course one at a time but i was impressed. did it in my 85' GL

can someone please nominate him for the funniest USMB post of the year?? please, that was awesome....too much.

 

i've had 5 deer in the trunk of an XT6 - picture attached.

 

also had a complete EJ engine assembly and EJ22 automatic transmission in the trunk of an XT6 at the same time as well. it was sagging profusely but made the 60 mile trip nonetheless.

 

had a 40 foot ladder hanging out the back of mine and drove it 250 miles like that. got pulled over and he only made me tie "more" flags to the end even though i had one. i don't know the official law but if there is any law against protruding out the back then it certainly broke it.

No picture. But I had 500-600kg of gravle in the back on my Brumby/Brat a while back. It didn't like it. the Kumho M/T's rubbed and the suspension was bottomed out. That was with the air shocks pumped right up too.

I hauled a grader blade for my tractor home in my subie tonight... only about 350lbs, but it sure was awkward to stuff in there.

i've carried about 750 pounds in conrete chunks in the back of the brat.

i blew out two sets of shocks like that, at least....

 

 

i've also carried multiple loads of road base(read ground asphalt)add at least another

 

i've at many times taken chunks of rubber out of tires from rubbing on them while driving.

 

now you know why i bought a big truck>>>>>>:cool:

other random related parts

and on the roof:

full set of tires

 

and drove the whole rig across 350 miles

Well, I don't have pictures, but back in 1993, my 1980 Brat hauled a Ford 360 V8 (650lbs) and it's C6 automatic transmission, plus a set of leaf springs from a 1960's 2 ton grain truck. Went about 15 miles with that. It was squatted pretty well.
