I'd be in for four or maybe five if the price was sane. Those would look really nice on the wagon.

Downside though is that they are Chinese- Are they US DOT certified, and are they going to hold up or blow the center out on a hard corner?

I do see a lot of copies of OEM wheels, especially Nissan and Toyota.

True... but remember that in the 50's "made in Japan" meant it was junk to most people.... then they came and took over our car industry.... China is currently taking over alot of other industries and not always with crap (often, yes, but increasingly not as much).

Yeah, but they're a bit proud of their stuff. Plus the shipping is outrageous. I can't justify spending several hundred dollars on wheels, I'll put Pugs on long before then.

I don't think I'll put my life, and my family's lifes, in the hands of a company that doesn't have a long history of making wheels. Seeing the wheels on the same page as door handles and saw blades doesn't instill a lot of trust.

 

I think you'd be better off re-drilling the hubs for 6-140mm or finding pugs.

my uncle lives and has a business in China.

the japanese are a different people with different goals, as evidenced by their drastically different markets/governments/societies. what the japanese have done is irrelevant to what the chinese are doing.

 

i have never bought a chinese product and found myself satisfied with it's quality. never once. can you say "planned obsolescence?"

 

i strongly advocate a boycott of chinese goods (where possible/reasonable, as sad as that is to have to make such a qualification) because of what their mgf'ing is doing to the environment, our bodies, our economy/job market (see qualifying remark above) and int'l commerce by and large.

I agree, this is pretty much the main reason the economy here in the US is down the crapper. We need to boycott the made in China stuff when we can, no more shopping at Wal-Mart, and if you do, please try to find the products made in the US even if it costs just a little more. That will help prevent further US job loss. If I have to go shopping anywhere, I read the made in label, and if there are 2 like similar items, I choose made in USA if they have it, regardless of cost factor.

China isn't the only one with a reputation of building crap unfortuneatly... I wouldn't buy a chinese car, but I wouldn't buy an american one either.

Take the Chevy Aveo -- similar gas mileage to the Camries and Civics, but this summer, they were languishing on lots just like the Suburbans, while there was waiting lines for prius's, that cost twice as much.

I wouldn't worry as much about quality as I would sending my credit card info to three guys in China, might be the new Nigeria
