Subaru Retrofitting

Want to buy a specific set of wheels for my 95 leggy wagon, but they don't come in 5x100 spec. They do however come in 5x114... Can I pull 5x114 hubs from another model and put them in my current bearing housing, or do the 114 hubs/housings use a different wheel bearing also? I'm already going to pull the rear housings off a later model to go with rear discs. Basically what I'm asking, are 114 hubs the same dimensions as far as shaft diameter/length/spline count, to keep my current cv axle and bearing setup?

I need to run 2 external cables into the area of the dashboard. One is external antenna coax ( little bit thinner than regular TV cable). The other one is a USB cable. What is the best route (or I should say the easiest path for permanent installation) ? Arthur

I recently swapped an ej25d and 5 speed dual range into my '80 Gl wagon and now im having very mild clutch slip problems. It seems using an ea82 clutch kit just doesn't cut it for the ej25. Even though the kit I got was supposedly a step above stock. I have read multiple times to use the xt6 pressure plate, but I seem to recall that they don't make those PP's any more and that any xt6 clutch kit you can find nowadays uses the ea82 PP. Has anybody had any luck using aftermarket performance clutches? One of the only ones I have found is SPEC but they don't list power capability just "Stages" for their kits. Hi guys! I've got some questions in regards to a swap I'm planning on doing for my little Loyale. This is my first car, and even after the head gaskets blew I've held on to the thing because honestly I just love it too much. I am searching for a dual range transaxle to put into my 92 loyale. I found one at a good price on craigslist but the seller states that it is JDM. Does anyone know if that unit would have the same final drive and work with the US spec rear end? The seller states it's the same, but in the off chance it isn't I wouldn't blame the seller if I didn't do my own research. I'm just trying to find some concrete information before I make a 6 hour round trip.

I swapped a 1999 EJ22 in place of my EA in my 87 wagon. I used the adapter plate from SJR, I assume the two tabs pointing up are for some sort of Mount for a pitch stop? What are people generally doing for a pitch stop? My wagon is also lifted 4 inches which will put it at more of an angle, do people make any changes for that? Pictures of what the tabs on the SJR adapter are for would be helpful I think also.

i am having a problem with a 1993 subaru wrx RHD. it had a ej20 swaped into it before coil on plug. motor blew got a new motor close to same year just new style coils and everthing is plugged in the same but i have no spark. i have 12 v to the coils but it wont fire i checked chank and cam sensors. is there some sort of security system with the newer computers or wiring im missing? its been a month and i really need hel starting it.

My tranny is going out in my 78 brat and I have a 5 speed duel range up in my shed and I'm wondering how hard it would be to swap it in my brat. I also have an ea81 and an ej22 laying around and I'm debating which one I want to put in. So if anyone that has done a 5 speed swap in a first gen could give me some pointers that would be great. Or if someone could send me link to another thread that would be great. I've done a good bit of research and the only thing that has me concerned is what cv axles I need. I have been planning this build for awhile but this just occured to me . I am just using the rear drive of a awd trans and was going to leave the fwd axles just free spinning . Would this cause excessive slippage (power to the drive wheels ) ? Or an this trans is it going direct to the rear drive ?

Hey Guys, this is created for the experience or already converted 4 lug to 5 lug drivers to help others who want to achieve the same specifications. The front of the Leone Seems to be straight forward to convert to 5 lug 5x100 but the rear end seems to be a challenge given that the XT6 model is rare. I can't get any rear end parts. Could you guys list your rear end set up for 5 lug 5x100? Specifically substitues for XT6 parts .

well got the harness thinned for my ej swap.everything seems to be in place but the tach wire.it leads to a ground.on the back of the cluster off the 91 legacy there are three connections for the tach.i used the one marked TA.the other two are marked GRD and IGN.after tracing the wire down it led to a ground.what the heck!any help?

Recently finished an ej swap into me 80 GL using an ej25d from a 1998 usdm outback. It has ran fine until about 2 weeks ago when the car stalled while coming to a stop. Since then it has happened 5 more times. Driving down the road it's fine. It only occurs when I push in the clutch and it idles down when coming to a stop. After it dies and I turn the ignition on it acts like it's in test mode and continuously turns the fuel pump on and off. Sometime it will start after and idle but if I give it any throttle at all it dies again. ok doing the harness thinning process on my swap.my question is the harness from my donor car is an automatic.there are two computer boxes and the one with the EE on it i'm assuming is the control box for the auto trans,but some of the wires are linked to the plugs on the engine control box.can i cut those wires?the write up im using doesnt show any of that.

I am surrusly thinking of doing a EJ conversion in my 89' Brumby. I have a few questions that i need to think over before going ahead and buying a engine/car for the conversion. Can you fit the standard EJ20, 22, 25 exhaust pipe under the EA81 crossmember? (you use the EA81 crossmember with the EJ right?) Can I use the EA81 flywheel and aftermarket clutch with the EJ, or do I have to use a EA82 set? The EJ25 SOHC is the only EJ SOHC that doesn't fit straight in a MY brumby/brat right? What needs changing to use the EJ gearbox? Thanks a lot!

So I'm in the process of piecing together all the components I need to turbo my 99 Impreza Wagon with an ej22. So far I've got: Td04-13t turbo 03 Wrx Intercooler/BOV Wrx Up-pipe (unknown year) Wrx Fuel pump Oil sump Spare single port headers I will be modifying What I still need is a downpipe and full turbo exhaust, injectors, and most importantly... A good ecu! Does anyone have experience with a N/A turbo build? Recommendations? Piggyback or standalone? What's a good, affordable, and easy to install ECU? Hey all, Chasing some advice on a planned upcoming conversion. I'm looking at doing an engine swap and want advice on what works best. For price/performance would you go an ej20 turbo, ej22 or ej25. I think i like the idea of the ej20 turbo. Running a manual gearbox all wheel drive. I've read so much on the various forums and just cant decide now! What do you guys recommend?
