  1. I have been trying to find out how to contribute some money, thru Paypal. I haven't contributed for way too long. There should be an easy way to contribute and it should be easy to find. ~buzzcon~

  2. Hey, just so you know before you use this manual... All of the above info is from Subaru enthusisasts who are not experts trained by Fuji in the art of how to jimmy-rig your car with new fangled ways to improve it. Many things here in the manual were trial and error attempts by members. Sometimes the bugs are not worked out. We try our best to be honest in telling you *how to*, but that doesn't neccessarily mean we're 100% on the mark. Bad things may just happen if you try one of these experimental *fixes*. The owners and moderators of the Ultimate Subaru Message Board which contains the Ultimate Subaru Repair Manual will NOT be held liable for your actions/modifications.…

I have a 2001 Subaru Forester L trim automatic, last owner put ej253 from 2005 outback. Both are SOHC but new engine is cam actuators (left unplugged as ej251 wiring doesn't have plug) Engine block is ej253 (with cam actuator) and everything else including timing gear is from 2001 forester (ej251) Now i am facing CEL light with P0341. I have checked and done diagnostic as per subaru repair manual. Link to photo and video gallery for reference

Changing out the control arm on wife’s 2022 Ascent and looks like the last thing to do is remove one of the studs so it can slide out. However once I loosened it, it’s still in there and can’t pull out. Am I missing something? Not trying to remove and carpet to see what’s happening on the other end. TIA

  7. ok so i purchased a 1995 legacy for 500 bucks from a friend that he was sick of dumping money in he spend an obscene amount of cash anyway the speedometer did not work and the shop kept changing sensors after i spent time on forums and this particular forum i was able to bug out the issue so i thought i would share my process as to help others beginning with a generic scan tool i received code P0500 and after some research it led me to speed sensors and how to test with a multimeter they seemed to work properly then i decided to buy a much better code reader and it gave me one specific word that changed my direction of solving this issue it stated fault on sensor …

  8. 8-26-2023 Re: Autonation Subaru Scottsdale 15678 N Northsight Blvd, Scottsdale, Arizona Deceptive Business Practice – “Bait and Switch “ Customer "baited" by merchant advertising a product at a (pre approved written ‘trade’ price), but when customer visits the store for ‘closing’, it’s discovered the previously agreed (vehicle trade price) has increased by thousands of dollars. In this particular case an increase of $4000.00., resulting in a sale/fail. CAUTION: I recommend extreme caution for anyone even remotely considering doing business with this automobile dealership! This week I checked the (Better Business Bureau) rating for this busi…

  10. I'm wondering what I should do to upgrade my suspension I found an old thread from 2012, but the links to the write up would not work

  11. Started by Hamm3y,

I'm in the middle of swamping my broken clutch out in my 1988 XT. Sense I had removed the transmission I decided to change the rear main seal. I installed the new seal but I chipped the top of the new seal. Will the seal still work or should I get new one. I'm on a time schedule so would a dot of RTV do the job?

  12. This will be a rebuild/info post for the EA82 Hitachi AC compressor model MJS170. The one the mounts to the inboard of the alternator. Work in progress. Generally you can rebuild a compressor that leaks, but functions. I have great luck getting R134a converted compressors out of junkers. Generally the system leaks, the PO replaces the hose orings and oil, and charges with R134a. The issue is the factory orings in the compressor are not rated for PAG oil, so they fail. You can grab the compressor, replace the seals for ~$20, and have a working compressor! Also I recommend rebuilding any compressor you currently have if it works and is quiet. The oil wears out ove…

I know this would be very time consuming, but... It would be sweet to see more pictures and more detailed shots in the USRM. Also maybe some short video clips to demonstrate proceedures that pics can't do as well. Thanks for putting it together thusfar. It has been very helpful many times! -Chris http://www.mastermindvideo.com
