Hey everyone...Just joined the board. I was stoked to find a board like this as I'm a sooby fan (3 so far). Anyway, I'm planning on buying a late model wagon to trick out and I'm pretty sure I can find what I need here with the advice of all you good folks. So yeah ..just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. Cheers, Pie Driver

Well, I did it...I purchased my 1st Subaru today...! It's a 1989 GL Wagon with 117,000 miles on it. The body, pretty rusted around the wheel wells, and doors are feeling the pain too...will need new front tire, and the front driver's side panel is dented...the engine is not working, fuel pump was out but it did start up with the old owner putting fuel in the injector-or so he said-but he found antifreeze in the oil, started draining the engine but left it to sit for almost 1 1/2 years...going to tackle that first thing, the belts are all shot(not a big deal)...interior is very nice, no rips in seats, dash in great shape, head liner, etc...I plan on just doing a c…

Moderator, please delete duplicate post in Off Topic forum. I posted here too because I can't wait for delayed posting in Off Topic (no disrespect, job offer requires timely submission.) Hello All, I have a remote opportunity for a job transfer to Salem. I like the 100-degree desert a little more than the 20-degree mountain, unless I'm skiing. Aside from the pure beauty and being able to join the Hatch Patrol - what am I in for? the good? the bad? thanks in advance, PK.

Just stopping in for a sec to say hi. Got the link to the club from a Yahoo Subaru group.... My subby? a 2000 green Outback wagon, manual trans, with a triple bike rack on top. Outfitted with the wilderness package, its most comfy in the winter.. heated seats, heated wipers (on the front windshield) and transverse traction control. The timing belt was changed around 60-70K. Coming up to 120,000 miles. The biggest repair has been a blown head gasket. That was last spring..... and it recently happened again.. although this time Im sitting it our for a little more thinking.... possible an engine swap... Because Im not trusting another gasket job. Everything done …

This was... um... Friday, I think. Saw a grey EA82 wagon at BAR with 15" Pug alloys and some stickers. Who does this belong do? Looked like a nice little wagon. If you work there, next time the Chaplin's delivery guy comes around, say hi, okay?

I could take it to the dealership-but on 2 occssions they have charged me $85.00 for a diagnostic computer hook up- only to explain they cannot tell me what the code means- a month after that the clutch went and needed to be repalced. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO if anyone knows of any ace subaru mechanics in MA please let me know. Thank you, ~Johanna

OK, I need to apologise for an earlier post saying walker valley was closed. Walker valley is open and there are no plans to close it for the winter this year as they were doing the past few years. I drove through on my way home last night and then I went in to the local DNR office in sedro woolley to inquire about wether it would be open all winter, they said yes it will be open all winter. There have been several trail changes since I was there last so I do not know what the trails are like inside. I am hopeing to get a new motor built for my jeep soon and make a run through to see what it's like now.

Hi there Im the proud owner of a 1989 Subaru Brumbyand also a 1998 Subaru Liberty sedan. I live down on the little island Tasmania which is at the bottom of Australia. My car has: a 2" lift kit, bull bar, tow bar, 13" Sunraysia wheels, canopy, Factory sports fun roof and only 178,000kms on it. Im interested in doing the 4 to 5 lug conversion, and later on an engine swap to an Impreza or Liberty motor. I have been emailing Corky (Dr. RX) about the lug conversion but would like to talk to anyone else that has done the conversion especialy if the live in Australia. Cheers Troy "Wombat" Philpott.

I put this here instead of off topic since I didn't want to deal with the posting delay. Sometime between 9PM Sunday night and 7AM this Monday morning my wife's '97 Impreza wagon was taken from our driveway. It is dark blue in color, WA tag number 892-TEV. Nothing exotic about the car, no fancy tires/wheels or such. If anyone in the area spots it, please notify the local police or call 911. I've filed a stolen car report. Thanks.

Well, we done it. The Pretty One and I are proud owners (along with our daughter and son-in-law) of ten view acres and a house/shop/studio in Port Ludlow, WA. I guess that's makes us penninsulites. The property is divided into six lots, and we will probably do a boundary line adjustment and then build a retirement mainland home base on one combined lot. Not condusive to off roading, however. We'll be out for a short Christmas visit, but prolly won't have any time for FtF'es. Maybe next summer, when we fly out (if I get the dang airplane finished) for the EAA Arlington Fly-In. Anyhow, we're all as excited as kids on Christmas morning to start looking at th…

Sooo glad I found this forum. I rely heavily on a similar forum for my VW Vanagon and have been looking for a Subaru one of the same quality. My '97 Outback with 147000 miles is starting to require attention (leaking front crank seal AGAIN!, fogged headlight exteriors, valve noise etc). I do all my own repairs so this will be a great resource. Glad to be on board. '97 Outback wagon '88 VW Vanagon Wolfsburg

Well I'm thinking of heading up to Mary's peak (about 15 minutes out of town) to go see how much snow is up there at around 1:00pm today if anyone is interested. I know Corvallis is swarming with board members! Anyway it tops out around 4,000 ft or so but should be fun! I'll post some pics later on. ...I don't know why this thread was taken out of the Offroad section and put into MeetGreet section...??:-\

Well, my wife and I have changed our plans for Reno slightly. We're arriving late on Thursday, so we're just going to check in and sleep that night. She's being a bum and doesn't want to leave the hotel on Friday... now normally I would be the first to volunteer to go someplace in a new city, but by the time I get there, I will have worked 10 consecutive days (including an 11 hour shift on Sunday), and be jet lagged... so I think this time around we're just going to be lazy on our trip and be bums. And we leave pretty early on Saturday. Next time I'm in town, we'll have to get together and do something... but not this time. Sorry, guys.

So there are over 450 registered NY'ers here on this board. Much to my surprise, 90% of them have 0-3 posts!!! I found about 5-6 people in my immediate area (meaning within 5 minutes), have 0-2 posts, and all seem to have joined between December and January (and haven't posted since). I am just in awe that there are so many NY people here ,and even quite a few here in the Hudson Valley that rarely/never post! Anyhow, quite hiding and start posting! Wussies....
