  1. Don't. You'll just look like a tool in a lowered 96 Outback. GD
  2. I’ve had success with rocking the car back and forth to unlock park brakes. Or removing the wheel then tapping the area where the park brand shoes contact could free up those shoes too. Cheers Bennie
  3. +1 Re-ring and go. EA82 bottom ends are TOUGH........unless it's been starves for oil the crank and block will be fine.
  4. DO NOT HONE THE CYLINDERS!! Clear? I wouldn't split the case. Distrubing the case half alignment is a bad idea. New rings and run it. The rings will seat just fine. GD
  5. sounds like you need to adjust the rear end there are 3 bolts on the trailing arm in a triangle like patern loosen those bolts and you can move stuff.around and hopefully you can get the rear end straight i had that problem on one of my loyals and was able to fix it by messin with that adjustment alittle movement goes along way
  6. Do a “de-lift” - find a legacy of the same era and pull all the suspension mount bolts, struts and possibly the gearbox crossmember - you’ll need the steering extension too! With your outback you pull all the lift blocks out and replace the bolts with those from the legacy. From there other options are impreza struts (maybe, someone will know), coilovers, lowered springs... I’ve always thought it odd to de-lift an outback or forester but it’s been done many times before! Cheers Bennie
