  1. Common things occur commonly. That flex point in the rubber boot from the body to the hatch is a very common site for the wire to fatigue. The first time I looked, I overlooked it but at the urging of a Subie tech, I dove back in an tugged on each wire. This requires NO electrical expertise.

  2. This is what I found on my 05 Outback. Didn't notice broken wires until I removed some tape and started tugging on wires.There were two complete breaks. d

  3. It would help to have the year and model. Many time the release lever handle pivot points are rusted. A little PB blaster and working the handle a bit will free it up.

  4. year and model would be helpful.. but most likely you have broken wires in the boot that goes between the body and the hatch. this is pretty common you can find factory service manuals here: http://jdmfsm.info/Auto/Japan/Subaru/

  5. i used to rebuild cvs for pepboys and autozone i rebuilt these day in day out i just clamped them and smacked them however the last time i tryed that i couldent get it to pop i ended up using a 6ft piece of pipe over the threaded end and just put some waight on it and they came apart puting them back together is another challange just clean it and reboot it if its that hard to get apart its probably ok if theres damage like a cracked cage or worn balls it will pop off with little effort also you can go through the cup and accsess the c clip on the end of the shaft but you have to pop the sheet metal plug out of the end of the cup but i only recamend that if the cup is already damaged you can replace the plug but its hard to get too after its put together and silicone boots are a must if you want the rebuild to last

  7. My abs light was intermittently on when I would put the car in reverse. I checked the rear taillights and one of teh bulbs was not correct. After making them the same brand and type. The sensor light is off. Weird, but wanted to share.

  8. I would recommend also rechecking the torque on your axle nut to be sure your new bearings have seated properly. These seem to need retorquing a time or two after initial installation in my experience and the slightest amount of freeplay will cause the bearings to be noisy and wear. Check your cv axles for possible damage. They are fairly simple to replace if needed.

  9. I would do open race 7207's. They are available in much higher quality. I would use Amsoil synthetic waterproof grease. The open races allow more grease in the knuckle and you can control what grease gets used. GD
