Draco Performance - stay away
bheinen74 replied to CaptainBob's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXcould be much worse. they could have needed another year to fix it. this is bogus from the start i would think. Come on guys, a year to fix a blown motor. NO WAY that is real.

EA-81 wiper arms ?s
you could probably rig a "bandaid" fix helper for the spring. Could either add a helper bungee strap on the current spring to give additional springyness, or elastic or somehow carefully give a couple coils of the spring a little twist with plyers to tighten it up a bit. remember though if you try to bend, its a fragile spring to begin with and you need to limit how much twist before it will snap and be totally useless. I have given wiper arm springs a twist before and it helped big time. The place to put the kink in it is at the end where it is more or less straight, just angle it a little and it will give what is needed. Take the arm off the car and put the bend in with the spring having no tension on it.

SVX pics before and after, claybar, wax, decals applied, and stock wheels put back on
bheinen74 replied to bheinen74's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe winter wheels are MB? can be found on tire rack website. If someone wants the custom rims, they would also work on 05+ Sti and the Tribeca and of course any SVX. I don't really have room to store them. The color is Dark Teal, a color only on the 92's. It is one of the first Pearl paints used i think, and its really beautiful after the claybar/wax Its the original paint. My camera does not show the beauty of it now. Center caps back on today after repainting them. Car is ready for the rain or shine drive in in DM for Thursday at Skybox lounge.

bheinen74 replied to bheinen74's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXbecause they had michelin alpin snow and ice tires. not good for summer driving. I prefer the stock look. Center caps just got painted, waiting on them to dry up and will install those and be done.

SVX pics before and after, claybar, wax, decals applied, and stock wheels put back on
Here is the link to pictures. The one with the custom wheels was taken yesterday morning before my work began. I then washed, claybarred, waxed, applied side decals from McBrat, then put on the set of Stock wheels. I have to give the center caps a coat of paint before my car is final. The 2nd and 3rd pictures are yesterday afternoon. http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp132/bheinen74/svx%20clay%20bar%20before%20and%20after/ my camera is crappy, and does not show the brilliance in the quality of shine.

'78 BRAT updated bad propeller ea71 EXTREME VIBRATION solved
oh crap. just a week after mudcoast rally. I heard the motor noises that day but didn't really think too much about it. it was tapping some and clicky clack more than most cars i have heard, but she made it thru....good luck on getting the engine swap under way. I got plans to work on my SVX (claybar and wax) and swapping to summer tires and cleaning garage, and need to take a trip someplace to buy dogfood. Sucks to have to go like 20 miles roundtrip just to get dogfood.

good hiding place for spare parts? like hoses, belts, pumps, air filters in plastic baggies to protect from dirt water, etc. i remember crossing into Canada as a kid with parents on vacation and at the checkpoint they arrested us for smuggling something in a baggie. - - It was my mom's instant ice tea concoction of the powder tea and sugar in the baggies. Well, they let us go after we insisted to have them fill our cooler with water, then we mixed it all in and ALL of us including the border patrol has ice tea.......

07 sti jerkin at accel and battery issues
bheinen74 replied to jizzy's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXmost dealers won't consider looking at or fixing this new of car which is Modded. OEM parts are good, aftermarket, pretty much can ruin / make or break the car. I would put it back to stock if you expect any real help from Subaru. this is fishy, 8000 miles on a 07 and the battery is a toyota battery?????????are you sure this car isn't ???? i dunno how to put it really, but maybe you got took

'Juddering' while turning; new steering rack installed.
bheinen74 replied to 211's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWas the car in a Wreck before you had to put the new rack in? I can not think replacing a rack with only 108k on it is normal. These things usually last forever, unless accident of course smashes it up.

LSD 3.70 repro sticker ... a concern
I do think we should be concerned in future of buying the LSD diff's. smart buyers will need to get a closeup photo of the internals with the cover removed to be sure.

LSD 3.70 repro sticker ... a concern
can you make them with 3.9 ratio? my sticker is sort of rubbing off on the blue letters, and I edited with a sharpie so mine says 3.9 over the old 3.7 I think it is important to show the ratio so if someone ever needs to swap a tranny, they know what the rear diff is too. I would buy one if it said 3.9 mine is a clutch type converted to 3.9 ring gear.

watch out for critters- Power drain 83 Coupe One More Time Might have found it
there is a large ground wire from battery area that supposed to be attached the to top of the front of the passenger side head....and a ground wire from radiator to the radiator support, i almost forgot about those. double check- Power drain 83 Coupe One More Time Might have found it
the clock was never working right? think i read that in another trhead. Maybe the clock not working, has a current draw somehow. not sure, but these digi dashes could be related as well. do you have any aftermarket stereos? I have seen them pull a battery down if something is loose.- Iowa Campout June 5-7, 2009
i might not even bring the Abbey dog. might be more of a headache than a relaxing time with her alone, especially since the rules say on leash all times. shes the kind of dog needs to roam and find sheep and herd, or if there is no sheep, then kids to herd, and whatnot. heck, being on leash means i can't even really have her go get beers for me or take my empties to a herded spot.- Front Camber Question
that looks like a lot of angle on the axles. No crossmember blocks? Won't this kill the axles kinda like it killed your tires?- Iowa Campout June 5-7, 2009
