  1. i cant find my pix, but one of my buddys owns a pizza place, and on a snowy ( 1.5 in. friggin idiots) day the delivery truck couldnt deliver, so we went and piched up 2 weeks worth of sauce, cheese, etc. in my 87 wagon, weighing roughly a ton. 30+ miles and half a tank of gas, and a strut replacement were in order, but we got it done. on the bright side, he paid me with free pizza anytime for a year.
  2. and a 89 will be a throttle body injectoin motor just swap intake manifolds witha jy motor if you can find one.
  3. bad idea, the turbo has a different computer and lots of different stuff, if you are going to go to all of that trouble, you might as well do a ej22 swap.
  4. get the part# and go to amazon.com, i got a pair there for 70 after tax, you have to drill out the holes a little, but easy, and not to expensive.
  5. yeah its going to be fun, its the one with the gold valve covers:headbang: im pretty sure there is no underpressure leak, unless the blowoff is malfunctioning, ill check next time we start it
  6. my roomate and i put a 92 ej20g rs ra motor in a 99 imp L. it runs.. poorly , most of the time on 2-3 cilandars, and when it decides too, it will attempt to idle. we have been thru the wiring 3+ times, in the austrailian, japanese, and american specs that we have been able to find online. im no expert to turbos, as i stick to wheeling most of the time. so i need some help. when we put pressure to the pressure sensor it turns on the secondary fan:confused: while running if we give it gas, when vacume turns to boost, it sputters, backfires, and wants to die. we did hardwire the ecu into the stock wiring harness (BAD IDEA) and the motor we got had no wiring harness so we made one from the harness off of the ej22 that came in the car. yet everything checks out per the diagram, volt specs, etc. ive started to look for a new ecu but this is a hard to find motor let alone ecu, will just a american legacy turbo ecu control this motor? these things had quite a bit more power than those. any of you out there have any ideas? if anyone can help please respond or even call me 206-851-3581 thanx ben:headbang:
  7. i think most 96 outbacks came with ej22's in them in 97 they went to the 2.5 that had the horible headgasket problem. so for 750 plus a tranny you have a pretty good deal:headbang:

  14. my books are all borrowed out, and i have looked in the usrm, my tach is jumping, and sometimes when under load it missfires. the usrm led me to believe that this is a sign that ineed a new disty. now do i need to replace the whole thing, or is this a part in the disty that i can replace, or am i way off base? it is a 1986 gl wagon , the disty is the weired one with the spinning cross thing at the top under the rotor, if you know what i am talking about. thanx:headbang:

  17. welcome, dont be scared off, when i started here i felt the same way. then it worked out. and as far as i know most of us name our subies, ive had 17 and 13 of them rhyme with oobie! , but the weird part is in my little world i see all subes as dudes:-\ ... dont ask me why... my first was subie subobarubu, and when we wee wheelin, its su-baja-rubu:headbang: a beat to helll '87 gl wagon that went 487,000 miles without even a oil change(it did burn thru a quart every month) well, have fun, and a word from the wise, look thru the stickies before posting questions, you will usually find what you are lookng for. ninjaben43:headbang:
