Hatch is mostly restored!
this hatch is not junk, and never has been considered that. the previous owner took better care of this car than anyone i have ever met. every single little tiny itty bitty teeny weeny detail is pretty much cherry. he even replaced all of the hoses in the engine compartment with brand new, higher grade hose. with the way that he took care of this car, im suprised he sold it, especially for 500 bucks:confused: ... it did need alot of help from a small accident up front, but..... ninjaben43:headbang:

How to manually engage 4WD? And ball joint question
ok you have to take your vac line and put it to the disengage side (bypass the solenoid) and then drive it in a straight line. putingt it back to stock will do nothing either way with no working solenoids. your feed line is the plastic line with the rubber hose on the end, and your "on, and off" are the 2 lines that fit on to the green inlets on the solenoids. plug the plastic line into one of them and drive it,if it stays the same then mark it "on", and if it pops out of 4 then mark it "off".(that is if it is still in 4 right now) the point is that the stock setup is a 2 way switch on a sealed system. your switch doesnt work, so now all your solenoids are good for is keeping a seal on your vac system, so you HAVE to bypass them for anything to happen, either way.

How best to replace a wire in the harness?
but, you usually can stick a small screwdriver into the hole with the wire, and pull it out, but it sometimes breaks the little plastic tab that holds the wire in, and then you can never trust it again. so unless cutting into the wire is going to change the reading from the sensor, id leave the plug alone.

mounting tow points on a impreza
its not hard to build your own bumper/brushguard. i plan on building another one that has a 2 inch reciever hole in it so i can plug and play with hitches, or whatever. i want to mount my winch to on so i can move it to the front or the rear, and when im not using it, keep it nice and dry in cargo, away from potential thieves also:headbang:

5 lug swap/ with lift, problems
do you think your cv's will allow for that inch?, how much is it lifted, mine has never effected the front cv's with a aa 4 in. lift, yeah it looks a little funny, but the geometry is no different. by doing this you may run into probs....just a thought.
