Great idea. I'll find out tom. how it works. Hopefully it will cover up everything

Well I cut the hole today :-\ . It didn't come out as clean as I had hoped for. My plan is to tape off a 1/2" brder around the hole and paint it: Cheap wallyworld rubberized black undercoating, or the Outback silver?? I am not really sure which one. I am a very bad spray painter so I am leaning towards the rubberized black but I hear bad stuff about the cheap crap. This will also cover up some mishaps I had in the process. I am going to paint the inside of the fender around the hole with some rustcheck/rustoleum stuff. Any suggestions. Also what should I use for the pvc. I want something that wont be brittle in the winter 0deg months :headbang:

When i was under the car today looking for the diff vent and trying to stop my stupid heat shield rattle, I saw a black box in the very back pass side under the car. After inspection I noticed all the rubber hoses are starting to dry out and crack. What is this box, logic tells me that it would be something to do with the fuel system. I couldn't tell where the hoses ran to, so I am not clear on what the hell this thing is. 2nd, should I replace these hoses, any special procedures??

I started on my snorkel today. You are going to have to bend the pipe unless you can get a 120deg elbow for the \__ windshield to fender. Also on the obw the hole if using the stock air box is really low on the fender, so this might take some bending also. I haven't gotten this far yet because I am to afraid to cut a hole in my fender. Check out Donaldson prefilter Top Spin. This is what I plan on using, if I ever get the balls to cut my fender.

they should all be 2.2L, so you dont have to worry about much. Autos can give you torque bind, but manuals can also.....autos seem to be a lil more frequent though....replace water pump and timing belt when you get it. Front and rear oil seals will prolly be leaking but this is easily taken care of when you do w/p and timing. Up to 1996 all the 2.2s are non-interfernce, but changing the timing belt is still a good idea.

Search center diff.................This will bring up info. I will pray for you and me that it is just the center carrier bearing. If yoiu do a search on this nothing will come up. Nipper is the only one (besides me now) that ever mentions this. If the bearing goes bad then it can cause torque bind symptoms. Search my post and it should be the last one I created, its the same as yours.

Nice hatch Yea they are rare in some places.....I am pretty sure I have never seen a hatch driving......mmmm can't even recall ever seeing one.... -
Run it through the top plastic all the way from the hatch on the pass. side. Then run it down the pass. A pillar. From here you will run it under the glove box or along the windshield depending on where your reciever is. You shouldn't have to pull any plastic off except for the back hatch area and maybe the A pillar. You can just tuck the wire in using a flat head screw driver on all the rest.

I am seriously considering selling the roo for a diesel 4Runner "Hi Lux Surf." Convert it to a 2 tank wvo system and rock out with my **** out. Too bad it seems like a difficult process to import a rhd from japan, but I know of people that import from canada w/o many issues. still researching this issue
