  1. I'd say get the 2000 down a bit and go for it. The rear bumper can be poped back into place with a heat gun (blow dryer) and your hand. Just heat t up and push it out. Doesn't even need to be that hot Just make sure you see the paperwork for the work preformed. Do tight circles in a parking lot to make sure it doesn't bind. Search "torque bind" . Make sure that the FWD fuse is NOT in the fuse holder, then do the tight circles
  2. I would just tap into the lighter, either the close one or the lighter in the arm rest cubby http://www.jazzyengineering.com/product_info.php?products_id=48&osCsid=554d206fd79ecab5b8264a81cf27b466 -Has downloadable pdf w/ instructions for removing the radio. Also a great product if want to play aux items w/ CD quality sound through the stock radio Dude, you got a plane in your garage!
  3. http://www.dcshoes.com/snow/default.asp?category=snowparkrally Click on behind the scenes video clips and let it play
  4. I'd say the snows have a lot to do with it. You could do a bounce test on the struts, but I'd replace the rear sway no matter what. Everyone who does says it is a huge difference.
  5. I got mine out pretty easy. I started the car for a minute or two before hand. Enough to warm it up but not to hot. I used a hammer to smack the wrench which worked brilliantly!
  6. love the old gen STi. Great car Wish Subaru sent them to us when they made em.
  7. All the tires should be the same. In fact they can only vary 3/32" from tire to tire circumference.
  8. knock sensor. Either relocate it and run high octane, or buy a new $50 sensor. Do a search for knock sensor. Check yours, you'll probably see 2 cracks on it (1 on each side, on the outer edge). Easy way to test the knock sensor, if you dont see anything physicaly wrong with it. Fill up with 93 octane, unplug the (-) battery, relocate the ground and knock sensor (search will provide details). Wait another hour for good measure. Reattach the battery, go drive and see if it is any better. BTW, you should be using Subaru plug wires
  9. I assume you are talking about the front one. All you need is a open end wrench 22mm IIRC. You do not need the special O2sensor socket for the front. I changed my front sensor just fine with a open end wrench. Make sure you unplug it first
  10. Maybe I wasn't clear. The HID light is brighter and will travel farther and this will blind people. The halogen doesn't travel as far and therefore the mirrored housing is sufficent.
  11. The mirrored housing throws Super bright HID light all over the place. It's about aim and pattern....not the light. hence the reason JDM housings don't work in the US
  12. The problem with putting HID lights in our stock headlamp housing is the fact that our housing uses a mirror as a backing plate. This mirror will throw super bright HID light all over the road and blind on coming drivers, and drivers in front of you. THIS is why they are illegal. To do it properly you have to retrofit a projector lens into our housing in order to maintain the scattering of the light. This is why manufacturers that produce vehicles with HID standar use projector lenses. It controls the beam. Even if you do retrofit a projector lens in your housing it still has to be adjusted correctly. So, I ask everyone to please not throw HID bulbs into regular mirrored housings. It is illegal, and more importantly extremly dangerous.
  13. I hated uncle scottys when I tried it. Valvoline synpower is truly amazing. Use mobil 1 for the diff....NOT the tranny as it is to slippery and you'll do more harm than good
  14. or.... ....Just for fun My questions still remains for the handling issues. Any input is greatly appreciated.
