  1. Oil pan is somewhat different from '72-3 and the '74 and onward. I have smaller crush rings that my FPM said were from pre-'74 cars. I'm not sure if the shape and size is different but the plug sure is.
  2. Answer: Notorious spot where crap like pine needles and leaves and dirt all accumulate and hold water and cause rust which turns to outright rot....all in the WORST possible spot to deal with. Trust us 70's owners and rust zone former 80's freakazoids .....strip it,blow it all out, make it dry and clean and recoated if possible to assist in water drainage.
  3. What year? This forum is for pre- 1980 Subarus -with little exception. I think there's instructions somewhere if you use the search feature. It's fairly easy.
  4. My question is this. Do I need to be concerned about this crack? Most look like that with anything over 100k but they'd continue to run plenty much longer if needed just as is. But,you've got a nice project so my vote is for you to keep looking. Some of us have gotten rebuilt (ATK) engines in the past couple of years so they're still out here. If you can search Brian Thompson's old posts he once posted a couple of new or rebuilt 1400 and 1600's that were at a garage in So.Cal.
  5. Be patient ! It looks FINE right now becasue its being tickled all over.
  6. Let me know if you go to Bpt. I work right near the Vibes fest. and live just a few minutes away. If I work on Saturday I'll drive thru Seaside Park and check out the scene. Been an outstanding event when held here. No problems at all which is contrary to south Bpt. life in general. Very well run , lots of security , and waterfront camping if you get there early and snag a prime spot. Otherwise they don't call it Seaside Park for nothing. It's truely the GEM of Bridgeport and one sweet beach. The longest continual white sandy beach anywhere near here. There's some statistic that actually calls it the 2nd longest public white sand beach in the northeast. Wild turkey, white tail deer, several varieties of hawks including the osprey,rabbits,pheasant,etc....walk to the west end early in the AM and you'll likely see a number of species. Once saw 2 deer on the beach walk into the water and start swimming STRAIGHT for Long Island. Have fun and hope to see you HERE and THERE (Connie's).
  7. must keep thread aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive !!!!!!! PM sent with my initial copy sets and of course looking for the originals to come back. But these decals,EVERYONE !!! I'm putting a set on my '92 Legacy
  8. More beer for us. Dave, hope we can meet up this summer or fall. Rt.61/Harry's run overdue. Have fun playing golf with the boss or uhhh working.
  9. How many people again? Who likes Ribs? Do you non red meat suckers want to try some Caribean (Jamaican) vegetarian? We've got a killer little place not far from me. Usually only one or two of his choices are "hot-spicy". Otherwise all dishes are very flavorful and he also has basic cabbage and/or broccoli.
  10. Good idea pulling the fenders off. Notorious collectors of grime which holds water ...... Go Connie !
  11. My '78 has never been down and still gets used. Tough to make too many events at such distances with our schedules. I do want to attend at least one ice event. Two of us did a TSD with the Finger Lakes gang years ago. Would be great to get back up that way again. MPG rally sounds like a great one!
  12. Carlisle next year. 3rd weekend in May.
  13. Holy Crap !!! Call it what you want. Dual headlights w/stage 1 grill - sweeeeeeet!!! No idea of that model. Different market than USA. Thanks for posting !!!!
  14. Rockin n rollin ... nice going Mike! Hopefully I'll get to stop by and see it on a Harry's / PA yard run.
  15. I thought you were smart !????! Congrats and enjoy !
  16. I have some. But at this time I'm not able to dig out parts. There's at least one other guy here who had NOS of those and there's plenty of used ones in my stock and my friend's. I'm sending a contact thru PM.
  17. There's an abundance of those lenses here. NOS as well.
  18. Geez Steve,What were you looking at that looked so bad on this car? This should be another fun thread. Wish I could help. No more Coupe stuff here.
  19. 1976 Yamaha motion stripes !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice job - functional - getcha many more years of pleasure
  20. Gee its just such a shame you won't be here. Corky why bother with post like this? Edited Cheers!
  21. I'll be there unless ??? major happens. Rob - coooooooooool !!!
  22. Well I done went and offended one guy. :-\ Going to be 2 groups here - lets face it. Those who wish to attend and would like to write a letter to settle (after discovering) our differences with the Carlisle staff. Or if they even have a problem with the "Subaru Group" at all. Maybe by now they've noticed that within any group there'll be incidents. And the group who thinks its not worth the effort to go back. I don't see where the second group is going to help the first group much with the letter. wouldn't have it any other way. I'm saying let there be one letter from one person instead of many to start. And that person should state in the letter that they represent the group. They won't ban us from the event. We're a growing group and lets face it Asian cars in general are going to be taking up much more space in the coming years.
