  1. You're welcome and dang I'm tempted ... but the old parking issue Bump! East coast wake up !!
  2. Where was this Brat most of its life? I just want to make sure that you thoroughly inspect the areas where suspension meets the unibody and all stress area around the shock/strut mounts. Check the FUEL FILLER TUBE AREA from the underside, and the fuel pump mount and pump itself. Gas tank,of course. Just don't want to see you go along with a hazard. The interior is easy enough to rip out, bleach and hot water the ceiling, pillars, walls, doors, and floor with the drain caps removed. Read your bleach container. Couple of capfulls for a small bucket....same deal on the plastic and whatever you can wipe down. Small amount of bleach only cuts and kills and should not fade any worse the already faded plastic. Carpet, I'd do a similar wash and consider a replacement if you have the couple hunderd $'s Otherwise poor mans cleanup but again I'd use a bleach mix. Carpets are the worst for mold. How long do you want to "bring this Brat to life" for? You just want to have a reasonably solid beater for a couple of years or are you looking to make this last a decade or more? If the latter, don't fart around, cut the rot out completely and do it right or you'll only have heartache and misery in short time. Have fun, don't overspend. I'll try to donate some stuff or let you know what's for sale.

  4. Time-serts are awsome for this application. A little more $ than a heli-coil but you can then take the stud out again and again if you need to. m12 x 1.25 I think ..... been a while.
  5. Front floors? - windshield gasket. I have one I could sell you. You can install it,many of us have done it. Send a PM if you're interested in the gasket.
  6. Welcome and good luck with the Brat.
  7. Try your local Fence company. When I was working at one I saw so much waste it was tough to watch. Lots of good pipe gets tossed when they tear down existing old fence. Also, one day the boys came back with a section of guard rail that I swear if cut would work as a sturdy yet styled heavy duty bumper. Cut the bottom lip of a guard rail horizontally and bend the ends back a little or weld some end cap/flanges....look at one next time and visualize. But try a fence co. for scrap metal.
  8. I'm opening this up again.... Recently took possesion of a new complete tail light assy. with a fresh gasket. I have the pice to copy / make a template from ..... Stock looks to be neoprene. That'd work for me. Could make use of center cutouts with a few other neoprene vintage patch pieces I see in hidden corners , under carpets , etc. , if one of us does it. Also, right now there's another new t/l assy. on eBay from a seller in Israel. Not a bad price and shipping isn't too bad either. Comes with the same gasket, looks fresh too.
  9. If you need '76 info I've got mine handy these days. Right here I have '72-74 , '75-76 , '77-80. '72 and all '73 COUPE (three stages within 1973 , you knew that ) - p/n -6920 11541 '74 COUPE -6920 32860 - does not interchange with prev. wagon grill of that era is way different. The '75-6 4WD grill looks similar in shape but is much taller than the early Coupe. 1976 P/N - 6920 52020 which also fits the HT (hardtop) only, not the '75-6 Coupe. 1975 4wd is 6920 32732 and stands alone :-\ weird. 1975 Coupe and HT p/n - 6920 32862 No notaion of interchange so something must be different between them.
  10. Doesn't anyone else have factory parts manuals? They show up once in awhile and they unfold countless mysteries. Cheers!
  11. Maybe not so easy of a trip at that time if there's a snow storm....but we'll catch up with Spark,I'm sure.
  12. Sparky, Might be cool to meet up at the Outer Banks some summer day. I do still want to get some of those exhausts from the people in Columbia...we'll be in touch.
  13. Started cleaning today, some. Going to try to include an original SOA fuel filter for you too.
  14. arf arf .... well what I meant was maybe if you're a business and want to make some more money .... that sort of thing. Personally I'd pay the money to have someone do it if reasonable. Time I do not have. Someone who's set up already and has a jar of the blue on the shelf would easily make some money off of my account. I didn't read who shot your paint and assumed you did it.
  15. While you've got that color going can you shoot some more jacks, rocker covers, and air cleaners?
  16. looks like you got a jack ....
  17. Just like the one on my '78 in my avatar. Might want to consider drilling a drain hole on the underside of course, near one of the ends. I noticed my bumper weeping thru a small hole which obviously began on the inside. Drilled an 1/8" hole and watched it pee for a couple of minutes. Condensation must be the culprit but I haven't looked at the winch mount holes to see if there's a bushing in them....doubt it.
  18. I'd love to try to work some of those non-USA items into my '74 sedan. Be sure to let me know if ever there's a quad-headlight setup and that front bumper too for sale/junkyard. Gotta have those dual mirrors too. Spots of rust ...
  19. Factory parts manual might help. I gave one to Connie, maybe she can scan for you.
  20. Thanks,not a problem. Waiting for reply....
  21. Negative. But there's several 60's Elans down here. My friend Chris just met up with a handful of them and became aware of others all in this area thru a recent car show in New Canaan CT. Spoke to him last night to let him know I kicked the info over to him. Hopefully he takes me up on the offer where I pay the $40 and get to drive too. Chris has had his since around 1984 or so. Can we split time as 2 entrants or do we pay double? That way we both get track time and a chance to see who buys dinner that night. I'm hoping he calls back to confirm real soon so we make the pack of 70.
  22. I just saw this. Saratoga isn't too far. I just sent an email to my friend who has a Lotus Elan ... the old style. I think his is a '66 or '67.
  23. Whoa !! Sparky, there's a shop there in Columbia that has a small load of 70's 4WD rear exhaust. These are kind of long and bent, usually have a heatshield that wants to rip your fingers off when you handle it carelessly.....uhhh,would you be interested in picking a couple up,wrapping them together, slapping a label on them and shipping them to me? Cash,up front,of course.... The guy wants like $90 each to ship which is insane. I'm thinking the person that helps deserves at least $10 per unit plus gas and lunch....but thinking shipping should be more like $25 per unit. If open to consideration please contact me. If not,no biggie and enjoy Columbia. The State Troopers down there ....well,you've seen those movies, right? But their speeding tickets are reasonable.
