Documented: The 1970 FF-1 Project car...
moosens replied to Kostamojen's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Found some NOS ff-1 stuff yesterday. I know you've bought some items already but I have new corner light lenses and at least one new rear turn signal/brake light comp. assy.. A few other little items that I didn't take note of too. You still want that grill , right? As the weather lightens upon us I'll be getting stuff out to people. So far you're the only one with a sedan ff-1 (that has contact) so I'll set aside whatever I can for you. Don't forget that we have 2 ff-1 wagons here and a third 1973 wagon also so I can't let all the goodies go. Looking good. I like that black and white pic ... j/k -
FYI the SOA auto trannies were first mated to the 1400. The 1st tranny was disasterous. They quickly changed to another Mfg. and then had a more reliable base to create the 2nd and yet a 3rd automatic tranny for Subaru in 1974-5 model years. Once had that 32k 1976 DL Automatic that now sits retored in Sweden. It was so old lady fresh it put you a little more into your seat when you punched the pedal and also had no problem doing 65+++ mph. I'm actually looking for a good vintage automatic worth restoring or a drivetrain etc. to transplant into my '74.

Look at what i found....

What's all this mean to a guy who just wants to use it? I don't think the seller is selling it as pristine and/or restored. What's the price?? Also, you forgot to notate the obviously custom exhaust and rust on the wheels. It's not a resto or an aging original but its FUN. Congrat on the find. -
yuk yuk yuk ..... I know your breakin stones and I can appreciate that but for sure we'll get out there before then. Don't count on me making on of those "WC" events but hey you get me as I can make it.... Infact I might just sneak out there to meet a select few , grab a keeper , and drive back thru E.Wa , ID , MT and then everything else eastward doesn't matter right? Oh, maybe hit OR just a bit while I'm out there.

Sounds great ! Hope you can make Carlisle PA for the Import Kit/Replicar Show with our small but enthusiastic group of vintage Subaru owners. May 15-17 If you can sign up under the Ultimate Subaru name in the draw down menu when you register it'll help us get a free tent http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/events/import/ Probably about the same distance for you as it is for us up here. You can pretty much count on my taking a trip down I-81 sometime in the next couple of years. Without question I want to take the family to the western hills , see Danny W a.k.a. "drivesubies" from this board who lives in TN. He's got some serious Subaru restorations going on and is hardcore about them. Gotta run , sleep later , see you guys tomorrow ...

Hey Nollie, I sent a private message to you. Sure do have much of what you need. Love those mountains out there!!!! Are you near Boone? We just had our '79 4WD wagon hit and now have passed it along to a fellow in MD. Still have a '79 Brat and '78 4WD wagon to play with for now. Good to see one more East Coast Vintage owner ! Talk to you soon, Paul

Thanks but I'll be a while getting over to your place. I'm at least a couple thousand miles away. :-\ Consider shipping cut sections? -

Would stink to register our cars and still have to chip in for a tent....but I'll do it. Yes,bummer year all around. Ain't gettin no better anytime soon up here. More peeps out of work. Crimes in the paper lately show more folk getting deperate. The usual baby formula busts ,smashed windows with minimal goods taken ,etc. America the Limping Dog Crossing the Busy Street. 39 days ?? Yikes ! But this happens every year. We up here in the right corner get the extended winter weather that they try to sell us as spring. Not enough time for prep for the event if you have kids or are typically busy with work. :-\ -
 Oustanding ! Lovely young one too. But , dang you for releasing the bug on me ..... There's typical 360s and then there's your Cali btchin 360's. Fine work. I'll be sure to buddy up with you when the bug gets ahold of me. Thanks very much for the video.

I'm in on that if Galen passes. Let me know what's left of it for pieces, please. -
Hey great scenery there.... Sorry, but I think we'd all rather see the car than the road it travels over. Sure is a cutie. Would like to see more of the car. How about a little tour with all the doors and hatches open? I for one would really love that. I've avoided the 360 bug for a while but every springtime you know they all come out try to bite me. What would work here would be an electric "automatic" 360 van for my wife. I'd be a sucker for a pickup or van too.

Could use some help with identification
moosens replied to pdxine's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Guys,I'm going to send pooparoo one of those sets from the 1975 "Four Wheel Drive" .... just give me a little more time. And I need to make an order for him too. So to the original poster - I have one or two of those in fair condition. I'll do my best to locate one soon. There's one on my 4WD wagon that obviously does not belong there so maybe I'll snag that one for you. PM coming ...don't move -

I was lucky to have Corky cut and send some to me. And I think one other guy also - maybe NorthWet helped out with a small section. You know .... I've been asking on and off for a couple of years now for the same cut sections, etc. Not only for patch repairs but also for fiberglass repro sections or panels. For a while we on the east coast kind of got tired of hearing how there were still so many out there (PNW) etc.... well with all there is I'm kind of surprised that nobody has stepped up to do any cutting of any kind in over two plus years of asking. I'd pay for strut tops, rocker panels, quarter panels or even just lower sections of 1/4's that could be for mold making. -
