Going crazy looking for a windshield- 78 Brat
moosens replied to skapickle's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
if there's $65 windshields going around you'd be moronic to pass on them. You can't touch a windshield up here for under $125 and that's for something going out of stock. Have to wonder if the price stays at $65 after one location gets it shipped from another. -

I have one here if you want to attempt shipping. $120 for the glass. $60 for a new, freshly made gasket, plus shipping. -
1989 and 1990 only in the USA and there were 1500 made for both years total. There are three different types of rear window installations on that model. Very cool car to me. Had one and drove it to death. Ended up with way over 200K

To date I have no complaints from the Board Gods about using so much space for so little info. But.... Can we please consider NOT replying with the pictures and simply cut and paste the words you'd like to reply to? No offense intended to anyone, recent or past within this thread. There's a whole ?? load of folks that do it. Sorry,I'm not voting on this. Have fun! but I'm partial towards two or three...but, ultimately would like a solid color with some accents, not a two tone. -

Whoever produces the kits for sale please give me a tap on the shoulder....thanks! Looks simple enough. If I were still running the shop where I was last we could whip some up too...but you guys are the real deal. -
Worth repeating ...nice pics. You guys look like an old Pepsi advertisement or something..... So,it looks like my Coupe is sold. If this car lingers around any much longer I might be your man. But in the meantime..... Good luck with it.

Congrats to you both and best of luck to all !!

Make a list of what p/n's you want and send them to me. I'll do my best as I can. -
What about a California intake? If I remember right,I was looking into that because the Cali. was unobstructive. Too late now,but maybe the next guy to Weber a 1400 will see this. Any modification on that 1600 intake to fit?

My gas evaporates too quickly !!! my '78 4WD wagon is getting around 25-28 but could be doing a lot better. the '79 my sister inlaw is using is getting around the same, more towards 30mpg she says. Both cars are mostly street slingers,no serious highway action lately for the vintage buggies.

We were working on getting some made up or find a suitable match but kind of dropped the ball. So,what about those filters? I can understand about parts cars being nonexistant...same story here. I've not searched very hard but when I did I can't come up with anything for those airboxes...so when you get around to checking for yourself, please let me know. I/we have several used examples of door weatherstrips from coupes and two doors, etc. from 1973 and up. Just very unorganized right now and not all in my possession. But we'll help you out if we can. -

I have the front windshield gaskets, but we both need a solution for the rear glass. Car is sweet! Same color as my GL1400 Coupe. Hate to ask now but I need one or two of those air filters! A man in England had some listed on eBay recently but the shipping was completely insane for two filters. I may end up spending a lot on shipping anyways, but if you locate any, please let me know and I'm pretty sure I'll let the postal folks take my money. If there are any parts cars around, please let me know. There's only a handful of these coupes here in the USA that are worth running. Mine is one of them. Thanks for the push! I've had countless thoughts of blowing through my '73 this weekend.
