  1. Check with Earl - pooparu - on this board. He may have them made already.
  2. And if you want a shop with a long history etc. but of course the cost = ouch! then F & S in Waterbury. They have their own parts yard etc.
  3. I'll ask him but then again he might see this and just reply. What part of CT are you in? Best guru I know is out east. I don't want to overload him so we'll let him reply. Western CT I'd say find Angelo in Norwalk if he's still going and I expect he would be. Was near Strawberry Hill off East Ave. Used to be Paul St. Germaine up around I-84 Wolcott area but he closed his old shop but I'm pretty sure he's still going. Some little shop in Rt.10 in Milldale above Cheshire is an obvious Subaru specialty shop. Charlie Miller who works at Premier in Branford if you can get him off to the side. Master Tech. Nick's Motor Service south end of Hartford too but I think he may have retired but the shop looks to still be going. His boy and another guy may be running it with a new name. Northwest corner looks to have some hotshot Subaru specialty place too these days. Certainly based around the STi crowd. That's CT from my perspective. We lost Charlie D - ctsuba - last year. Guru Good luck!
  4. Haha , I just read Leeroy's post. Please tell us what the fuel pump is doing and what you see through the float chamber porthole. And pardon me if the carb doesn't have a window.
  5. I'm going from where the OP states "fuel pump not filling chamber etc". Otherwise remove plug number one , using finger over hole locate TDC compression stroke , set the distributor with the result causing the rotor head to be pointing where the number one wire would be. Then when all buttoned up check with timing gun and rotate the distributor until all sounds and looks as best as can be , lock the distributor down with the 10mm bolt.
  6. If you can , test both the alternator and v/r. And check the wiring between them.
  7. Never know. Folks like us know these cars and know how far it is from restored. But I still think presented properly he might get the $5k
  8. Scratch that gasket thought. I just now zoomed in on it. Well it's maybe going to fetch a solid $2.5k I'd hope.
  9. Yeah I recall that car. Might have a recent front windshield gasket. I think I sold the old shop one. I know I was in contact with them as were a few people when those coupes were semi-hot at least amongst some of us here.
  10. Hey between us like not one of us has a box with a new kit in it? Mine are buried right now. But the instructions come with them and give measurements. And you can start a thread on WBM but the three guys that'll go already are hip. I spoke to Andrew just a couple days ago. Maybe he'll make it too. Says he hasn't logged on here for maybe two plus years. But I'll let him know. He's in Windham Ctr. these days.
  11. Just have plenty of 8-tracks to pop in and crank up!
  12. Hope so. No brakes right now but most of the ride there is rolling not stopping.
  13. And Pete , don't you dare bring that wagon to WBM in June and park it next to the Snow Shark. Too sweet! I hate you....lol
  14. Instructions are in the box. Anybody still have one handy?
  15. Thinking your theory is correct. So many "get one more year out of it" fixes in the oldies.
  16. Ahhh , welcome back...those 80's cars are pretty much all gone from the roads up here but there's a treasure of 1980's cars and parts that hopefully gets released and sold off. It's a probate situation but the guy that left it all was ctsuba here - Charlie - who was taken by cancer last year. But I'm sure you'll score here as needed. Good luck!
  17. Old name. Are you back and bluffing or actually a new guy with a previously used name here? Welcome or welcome back.
  18. and by driving 70mph for two hours, the whole car lurched and blew out whatever was still in the cylinder, so it runs and sounds great now So the Italian tune up method works. Atta boy !! And yeah, maybe hate is a little strong but uh , ya know there's lots of lights out there. You'll score one soon , I hope. I'm betting Todd has an extra oil pan to sell. I do too somewhere in my mess. Speedo cable - top of tranny. It'll be obvious if you get your head in there. . They almost all stink after 20 years. Mine only works the odometer and speed , well mysteries can be fun ya know. Lol
