  1. The bolts are M6x1.0, not sure on the length but very short. My favorite bolts to use for the separator plate are oil pan bolts.
  2. I used 11044AA642 head gaskets on an 01 legacy 2.5 SOHC last week. The machine shop took 0.006" off of each head. Its running good with no problems.
  3. p1507 will put the car in limp mode which cuts the #1 injector. replacing the injector won't help.
  4. If you take off the valve cover, there is a hex section on the cam you can put a wrench on for a counter hold when tightening and loosening the cam bolt. Line up the timing marks before removing the belt and the pistons are low in the block. If you move 1 cam at a time away from the marks, there won't be any interference.
  5. Make sure the cam position sensor is plugged in. Another thing that can cause this is air in the fuel system. Key on and off a few times, before cranking.
  6. This could be play in the tie-rod ends. The outer ones are visible, and the inner ones are inside of the boots at the steering rack. You need to wiggle the wheels and look at these joints to see where the play is.
  7. I had a chinese clutch disk spit out a spring and cause some similar sounds and symptoms.
  8. I put one of these in recently. The buttons have a cheep feel, and there is no illumination dimmer. I'm using it with a 4 gig usb stick, haven't tried anything else. No distortion at max volume, but it could go a little louder. Good enough.
  9. I have ordered these studs from subarugenuineparts.com the part number is 800910550 instead of removing them all you could clean up the threads with a die.
  10. Test the thermostat. I had one fail and it gave me similar symptoms. Like Miles Fox said, oil thins out and shows lower pressure when it gets hot.

  12. these are nothing new, I just wanted to spread them around a little.
  13. Thanks! here are a couple more: again, links removed.
  14. Thanks to mikeshoup for hosting the files. links removed.
  15. I recently got some ball joints from carquest which were not greased. the boot was seperate also. not an oem looking part though, they were moog. you can get a needle attachment for your grease gun and squirt some grease in there that way.
