  1. All I had to do is get a lead from ShawnW about some lady who was selling a bunch of old Subaru parts. She lives out in the middle of nowhere on a horse farm. Turns out she loves her old 82 wagon that is rusting out from under her, but runs like a top.... and its WEBERIZED! There are a couple of old 'rus on the property, along with a semi trailer full of random subaru "pull n' pay" goodies! Engines, tail lights, thrid eyes, dash, grills, Weber carbs, etc. Yeah, it was the dream barn. Jerry, Shawn, and I didn't know what to do with ourselves. So anyway, back to getting the Colonel running; all I had to do was drive an old rusty Weberized wagon back to the city, tear out the working motor in both the Colonel and the rust bucket, swap the rust bucket motor into the Colonel... and trade her a Colonel for a really cool 85 BRAT! Ring-ring-ring-ring-ring, banana phone!
  2. 95 "Outback" had the 2tone, but no big fogs and no raised suspension I beleive. Yes, the rear hatch doors and fenders should fit from 95-99 Gen2 legacy.
  3. Because the Forester is basically a lifted impreza, you will be able to find a few more after market parts for it. Just depends on what your plans are.
  4. The master was in the process of going bad prior to anything being done. The pedal would slowly move toward the floor when stopped. I had a new master to install at the time. We rebuilt the Hitachi, but it would suddenly start to sputter-jerk (mostly between 2-3.5k range) after about 10-15 minutes of driving. The motor wouldn't die, but it would idle roughly at this point, and I would have to rapidly pump the gas pedal to get moving again at all. We thought it would be a problem with the base plate seal, but instead of just doing the simple stuff... yeah, this is pretty much what spawned my harebrained idea to do the Weber swap in the first place. The car actually sat in the shop yard for a good month and a half prior to the actual install. We wheeled it into the garage to begin working on it one Saturday and the brakes wouldn't even release after the EB cable was disconnected. Even then the front and rear would stick, and its worse when the car is on a slight incline. Long story short, it could very well be a BB leak and I certainly didn't even think about that....
  5. Installed the jets and the problem is still there. This has to be something simple but I am just out of ideas.
  6. Ermmm... that is Shawn's fault. I would NEVER forget to hook that back up.
  7. I confirmed it with the wife last night. The Yetifolk will be there with salmon in paw.
  8. Here are a couple of pics of the carb... Still need to find time to put the new jets in. Weber pictures New wires and an MSD coil. Completely tested it for vacuum leaks. If the new jets don't work, I may just call it with this project.
