  1. Welcome. There's a whole bunch of us in the greater Seattle/Tacoma/Everette area. You're in good hands.
  2. Here's one. BTW, good to see from you. I haven't heard from you since we met at Schucks way back. How's your car coming along? Eric chairotsu@earthlink.net
  3. For most of us, a 27 is about max size. . . Example. Qman runs 27/8.50/15 Superswamper SSRs. I run 27/8.50/14 Superswampers. Same exact tire, same diameter. But. With a 14 inch wheel, I have more tire between my wheel and the road, in theory allowing me to air down more for more tranction with a lesser chance of blowing a bead. 14 inch wheel or a 19 inch wheel is no different for clearance. The size of the tire is what gives you your clearance. Make sense? I have about an inch and a half of tiresticking out past my rim, very small cahnce of mangling my rim on a rock. Those 15inch pug alloys wouldn't stand a chance at Evans Creek where we do most of our Hatch Patrol Initiations unless you put a pretty wide tire on them.
  4. Right on Adam. The term "SecretMobile" had to originate somewhere. hehe This year's wcss is gonna be a serious collection of monster soobs. I know of more secret projects than I'll reveal. Good and bad to be in-the-know. I even know about mtsfabman's secret plans. (btw Mike, the cdrom with about 130 shots should get to John's in a couple of days.)
  5. Being no computer geek, that one took a bunch of wrestling with the damn computer to get it to show up. I was trying to figure out what I'd done wrong as you guys posted. No disrespect felt or sent.
  6. Here's a towel, dry your eyes.
  7. My friend, you've got me confused with someone else unless all you guys are C#$ks. . . I be down with the female persuasion. I know Qman said no "on the trailer" photos, but how about just one?
  8. We'll be good friends in no time at this rate. . . It's cool, I'll get you back in front of people, not people typing.
  9. Everytime I turn around lately, I see another member with a lifted Soob. I'm very happy about that. I remember when I only knew of one in the USA. That was just over 4 years ago. If you would, please give a brief description of your (current) lifted Soob, list others you've owned or a link to their photos. Club affiliations please. Also include one photo of it. Thanks. I'll start. -------------------------------------------------------------------- *Member of the Hatch Patrol and Oregon Offroad Subaru Club and the West Coast Stompers. *I've owned 6 lifted Soobs prior to my current: *1986 GL Hatch back, PK 3inch lift, 4spd dual range, Weber 32/26, welded rear diff, rollbar, rear discs, "Desert Rat" custom wheels, 27/8.50/14 Superswamper SSRs, KYB shocks and struts
  10. This is no contest to see who's biggest. So far, Mudrat made a 12 inch lift sitting on 32s. That turned out to be a little too big for practical purposes. (See Subarubicon 2.1) This is aimed at the big rigs, not other Subarus. We as the Hatch Patrol and Oregon Offroad Club have pretty much been to and pushed past the limits of Subarus as we know them. Lifted or not. This is the next level. As much as you all feel teased, the product will be worth the wait. Saw Ken today, 'No photos till it's been to and kicked Evans Creek's rump roast'. Followed by, 'No photos of it sitting on a trailer or in the driveway.' We left, he went back to bed. More to come.
  11. Out of all the vehicles in these photos below, which ones do you think had to use a winch to go up the Reiters Pit "Wall" trail? Clue. At least 2, but not the Brat.
  12. Just you wait till you see what looks big on a Soobie. . . hehe Good for you out playing with your Soob. Ditto with what Rob said about the dial up thing, but cool pics. EZ
  13. Psyche. I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
  14. First, I don't see any obstacles in those pics that would make me take it out of 2wd in my Soob. If a truck that looks like that can do that trail, I'll guarrantee that my Soob will make light work of it. Second, I know you possess a pirated copy of my offroad video that I never got paid for. If that video doesn't make you a believer, nothing ever will.
  15. GD, I hate to burst your bubble, but you've given some not so accurate info more than one time lately. Whether pertenant or not, your latest was to tell everyone that Ken had a hood scoop at WCSS5. Not so. _____________________________________ New guy. Dissinformation given on purpose is an EVIL THING.
  16. Scoop's been on for a few months. But the photo Craig put up is a perfect one for comparison between new and before. Now we just gotta wait for Ken to finish up some details under it so we can get him to his computer to begin posting the photos you guys are really gonna flip over. BTW. What we just did to it involved 3 men working 17-19 hour days for 4 days straight. Ken, Mudrat and Me know cuz we were there. Rob lives just around the corner from Ken. There are 3 others from the board who know as well. 2 happened to show up while we were working on it. (We had to erase their memories though, "Area 51" type stuff.) hehe Nothing like being the first ones to do what we did to it! :smokin
  17. Tim and I haven't been getting along lately, but I know he'd still help if I really needed it. Good guy even if we don't see eye to eye on some stuff. Not surprised. You'll find several people like him spread thoughout the country.
  18. I'll bet the throwout bearing is pretty beat up too. . . I know it wasn't immediately available, but if you remove the timing cover shoot a hose into the hole after a mud bath for a while it will do wonders. I learned it at the WCSS3, I hosed it our everytime I played in the mudhole, and my clutch/throwout bearing did just fine. I think at least 4 people lost them soon after. You may want to anyways Shawn.
  19. I took that with my crappy still digi. The rest will be proper as they're released. :evil. (weee bit secret still) Don't notice anything weird, even though it's blurry?
  20. And the ones subsequent to it. Hottest newest topic on the planet. You watch.
