GD, I hate to burst your bubble, but you've given some not so accurate info more than one time lately. Whether pertenant or not, your latest was to tell everyone that Ken had a hood scoop at WCSS5. Not so. _____________________________________ New guy. Dissinformation given on purpose is an EVIL THING.

OK. Let's talk about this picture.

Scoop's been on for a few months. But the photo Craig put up is a perfect one for comparison between new and before. Now we just gotta wait for Ken to finish up some details under it so we can get him to his computer to begin posting the photos you guys are really gonna flip over. BTW. What we just did to it involved 3 men working 17-19 hour days for 4 days straight. Ken, Mudrat and Me know cuz we were there. Rob lives just around the corner from Ken. There are 3 others from the board who know as well. 2 happened to show up while we were working on it. (We had to erase their memories though, "Area 51" type stuff.) hehe Nothing like being the first ones to do what we did to it! :smokin -
Tim and I haven't been getting along lately, but I know he'd still help if I really needed it. Good guy even if we don't see eye to eye on some stuff. Not surprised. You'll find several people like him spread thoughout the country.

Clutch Carnaige from MIdwest II
ezapar replied to chef_tim's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I'll bet the throwout bearing is pretty beat up too. . . I know it wasn't immediately available, but if you remove the timing cover shoot a hose into the hole after a mud bath for a while it will do wonders. I learned it at the WCSS3, I hosed it our everytime I played in the mudhole, and my clutch/throwout bearing did just fine. I think at least 4 people lost them soon after. You may want to anyways Shawn. -

I took that with my crappy still digi. The rest will be proper as they're released. :evil. (weee bit secret still) Don't notice anything weird, even though it's blurry? -
And the ones subsequent to it. Hottest newest topic on the planet. You watch.

Don't worry, the rest of us still love you Moosey. I'll send you an email and let you know just why she's so angry at Ken or anyone having anything to do with him/me. We've saved all the dialog, and will forward it to you when we get back to Seattle. (we're on a secret mission right now, hehe) I say you've handled yourself like a gentleman Moosey. I'd say you just made yourself look pretty childish SG. That's some pretty knarly flaming/personal attack from someone who strictly upholds the law on another board. . . .think I'll go eat some worms. -

I'm jealous. I haven't been out since Saturday. . . -
Who got canned? Good score on the job. Say hi to Tom for me.

Poor guy could hardly keep his lunch down when he was over at my house not so long ago. Being in the same room with my HP was killing him.

That thing's gonna look great lifted Rob!! I can hardly wait. LOL Yeah, yeah, street shmeet. Nice score.

Thanks for the stories and back up. I tried to get a buddy to believe me the other day that the welded diff would outperform his (viscous) lsd. He wouldn't hear it. If I could only get him to go out with us once. . .

About to start my disc conversion: help
ezapar replied to Geck512's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Totally. Put them on, try them out, adjust accordingly. Ask Jeeves aka the USMB had to get its answers from somewhere. Someone has to try stuff out to be able to tell others what works and what doesn't. -
re-drilling stock ea81 hub for 5 lug?
ezapar replied to s'ko's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Think about it. Draw your four lugs on a piece of paper. Then draw five. Look at the two and see what's wrong. It would save you some typing. -
Good to know. I like you guys, you'll do fine. Didn't realize who "Death hatch" is. Hurry up and get that thing licensed. And hurry up and get yours together.

Well Rob, I'm not that bummed you sold it, I'm glad you might be able to make an end meet somewhere with the funds. You've been wheeling with us in your Mazda for years, so you'll still be around. I am pretty bummed that you sold it to someone who's Mom is gonna dictate whether he can drive it or not. Sounds like someone we'd have to babysit on the trail. . . Sounds like someone who's Mom would never let him wheel with us in the first place. (not like you had a choice of buyers, this I understand Rob) In summary, one less Soob in the Hatch Patrol. Hate it when that happens.

Moosey. Ken's computer bit into a worm yesterday, it's toast. So, Ken wouldn't be the best person to ask. As for "rifts". . . hehe, I tell ya. Whhooo. . -
Where is the cheapest place to get parts?
ezapar replied to redrum3433's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
BOW WOW Auto Parts has them for a decent price with lifetime warrantees. I just bought one today. -
Carfreak. You remember that place I told you to go to for the rebuild? They say they can do it for about 6 bills plus you provide your own cam if you want something special. Call 'em, talk to Steve, say you're the guy Eric was talking about about a week or so ago.

That's kind of a weird one, can't remember it coming up. Good question. Scott/Subarubrat (A search for Subarubrat.net? will bring up lots of info) has added his own variation of shocks and struts. His would be a good example to follow. You will have to find a way to get longer travel out of your axle/cv joints too. Since just about anything you use would need to be fabbed in, just about anything you choose to use could potentially work. I don't know of anybody who's tried this. I say just take measurements and a few guestimates and take it from there. You're in the right place to start. Good luck.
