  1. I'm gonna be helping Dan wrx do a lsd swap. Ken's gotta make it up here for to meet up with Ed, maybe they could meet here. Who's into hanging out for a few hours? If there's any kind of good weather, I'll fire up the barbi. . . I've got a bunch of video that most of you probably haven't seen yet. Anybody and everybody if they wanna make it is invited. EZ Sorry for not posting this in the m&g, but that forum is too stagnant for this kind of post.
  2. Careful, that's your mechanic you're taunting. LOL Give him too much crap, he'll make your brat steer funny or something. hehe
  3. Have seen one in person. Cool little 2wd coupes.
  4. Yep, know of it happening a few other times too. I don't know how common soobs are in the local junkyards near you, but the whole assend suspension can be had for pretty cheap around here. I had to replace the torsion bar in one of my hatches, I got a tip that the ones from an 83-84 wagon would be stiffer than the hatch. (saying this cuz I'm betting an actual Brat assend would be harder to come by.)
  5. PK Your package came. Thanks. Will continue to spread the good word.
  6. Brian took about 70 photos. We down loaded them onto my comp when we got to my house. I pulled a few of the better ones for the site. I have a bunch of video of us trying the muddy hill, good fun to watch. Maybe I can swing something next weekend. That axle refuses to die.
  7. If I did it right (thanks Shawn) then this should be a link to the newHatch Patrol photo album. http://usmb.net/gallery/albuo64
  8. Greetings new guy, don't let these old crones get to you. McBrat has a wheels page set up somewhere if you do a little looking. Some where in the usmb.net. . . If you're thinking about a lift, the man who makes the US version of the BYB kits is righ up the street from you in SD.
  9. kerbump Tex? Caleb? Brian Subafly? Rob? Or is this "O.G." only? as in Me Ken and Mike. Been a long time. . .
  10. So why haven't Tex and Brian Subafly sigfned up? How about Svenguoli?? Rob? Call me todya Mike, we can talk about heading down there together. I'll also only be in it for Black Diamond. EC involves too much time and travel for this weekend.
  11. Then there may be two. One of the STI's is Eric Witte's. Sept 14 there were 3 that showed up.
  12. Oct 27 being the date, I'll be taking it easy this time after surgery, don't plan on re-re-injuring it. No runs for no less than a month afterwards, longer if the doctor has it his way. . . Say definite Mike. As for photos, if it's raing like it is now, cameras will never leave the car. . . That being the reason why I didn't film any of the rallyX last time for the first time. Damn new camera and me needing to be careful with it.
  13. I'd be careful there. We ran into this on the Rubicon, and rather than make a mess inside the diff and possibly leave metal shavings inside, (super bad for a LSD) we took the entire thing apart. That one was not only broken inside, but twisted itself and became wedged in there good. After taking the whole thing apart, wee had to weeld a bolt onto it to be able to get leverage to pull it out. Should be a lot easier in your garage than it was for us on the side of the trail. I still have the tool if you need for teh stub bolt. Just have to get it back from Sven down the street.
  14. Would love to go out and whoop it up one more time before more surgery leaves me unable to drive. Add some concrete to your plans Mike.
  15. Indeed! Congrats to the Rachs!!!! Did anybody notice I pulled off 7th overall in Open Class? Not bad for only 2 showings this year. I still managed 9 points with my 80hp Hatchback.
  16. Lifts. If you are mechanically inclined, go for it and make your own. If you don't have the means to create one, or the time, buy a byb kit. One person can have it installed in a weekend first try, two in a day. I also lost a lift block once, due to me not retightening it enough. But, I've installed 11 of them, 7 on my own soobs, and that's the only one I know of falling out. (I found it on the trail btw) Toybuilder. . . Patrick is a busy man, kids and a full time job, always been bad at answering his emails. Posts grabbing his attention here on the board tend to work.
  17. NO welding, but cutting yes. The roll bars come apart, you can take the diagonal peices from the hoop. The bolt may require cutting , then a little wresling with it will get it to come apart. Take 2 inches off of each of the diagonal bars, put it pback together, and pow. It will fit like it belongs. The cool thing is, it will be low enough to fit a canopy over it.
  18. Would love to see my hatch in action. Anybody?
  19. Yep, RallyX Sunday. . . Ken will be down there too. . . Sven?
  20. Just tested it ou the subarubicon thread. Works great.
  21. If you put a couple of cuts in the fold, you can coax it into bending over and becoming flat.
  22. Soobme I remember I promised so to you, but I thought you had scored some. Caps no, but lugs yes since I did say I would. Email me your snail mail again and a prompt so I don't forget. You can get me back for the shipping. I'll tell you after I ship them, OK? Zap
  23. GD. The thinner wheel is a good thing. It allows for a really good bead, and therefore allows you to deflate your wheels more with less worry of broken beads. Your point about the price and availability is a good one. However, I can get pugs any time I need. I'm pals with a pug guy. I also found a local shop that does pugs and who's owner has no problem selling wheels to whoever would hand him cash for them. He's happy to get them off his shelves. Hassey. Still waiting for dirty pics of your brat. . .
  24. Yeah Todd, I thought you were gonna stop by. . .
