Some pics of the BRAT on the road
SaWeeet! Glad to see forward motion! Looks good doing it. I'm still not gonna rest till I see it in photos or video off road. Good job. Now pack it up and move West. Did you get to watch the Rubicon Video yet? ? ?

Rear end Ratio (Zap or anyone who knows)
If you used the tranny I sent home with you, it will match the 3.9 in the brat. I put an LSD in that one, right? That would explain the tendancy to get sideways, especially if you were letting off the gas around the corner. Hard acceleration will do the same. If the gear ratios were different between the two, everything would just bind up. You wouldn't be able to go anywhere. Probably not even in the snow. Also, you would have a REALLY hard time on the freeway with 3.7 pushing those big 28s.

Subaru Calendars
I literally have 4-500 Subaru photos, tough call as to which ones to throw into the mix. Here's a couple I like. http://community.webshots.com/photo/41217285/101436067yBWmOt http://usmb.net/gallery/zapar/soobystuff_040 I think the idea of a poll/stickey would be agood idea. Moderators could move submissions to a single post. Another for the poll. . . I'll break out all sorts, you guys will hate deciding. :argue:

Took the Brat out yesterday .....:) ( Long )
You go boy. (not sure I believe you without pics to prove it, especially from a "rookie" poster. : Sounds like the fun I had yeserday. I was keeping it a little more mellow with my rally stuff though. Just me and the missus and my busted knee if I got stuck. Did have two 20 foot tow straps and the 12 foot 4k lb come-a-long behind the seat though. AND a shovel.

Subaru to the rescue. Part of an awesome day.
A little. But after I had to skid it over a 3 foot high mound of snow to be able to get to him, his first words were, "That little Subaru gets around pretty good, huh?" he did appreciate it, he broke out beers and BTs. No really, he had one with him. One was "Old Cascade Highway" which went parallel to highway 2 and joined back up with it after a few miles. The other was one that claimed to be blocked after a mile and a half. It was, and it was also the funnest of the two roads. The guy loading up his snow mobile was trippin a little on the imp driving thru snow 2 feet deep like it was nothing. This is our second Winter with it, we got it a year and a half ago. 97 L 2.2. Won the open class of the Rally X last time I entered it. Photos are a little dark, but you get the point. Oregon foothills my rump roast. http://usmb.net/gallery/zapar/stevens1 http://usmb.net/gallery/zapar/Stevens2 http://usmb.net/gallery/zapar/Stevens3 Ken's talking about the part of the story I ommited. hehe, the part where I come home to a nice warm bath and play with my Stomper Water Demons in the tub. LOL I was sporting my "Our World is Flat" sweat shirt, he couldn't miss it. Looked like he had a hard time grasping the image of my hatch as I tried to describe it. He told the girl he was with, (who's truck it was btw) that they weren't gonna tell anybody. I told them I'd tell plenty of folks for them.

? driving fast/looks
I've seen a little over a hundred in the old 83 turbo wagon. Not bad for the AT. Gets pretty hairy at that speed in a car like that. The 97 L kicks in the speed cut at 115. Found out coming cown the hill with Tex in his RX.

modded 87 turbo XT - UPDATE 3/18/04 - She Runs !!
My buddy Sean came up with a good way. It was a motto. "Every time I get out of the car, I take part of it with me" Got the RX (after the rollcage was installed) down to 2350. Here's the rollcage partially installed. http://usmb.net/gallery/zapar/rxlight Did the same thing to my XT, but never took photos.

Saying good by to my brat
How did it get transported? Did Shawn come out, or is he due to?

Pug Wheel Questions?
Pug 15 steels are kick rump roast. They have just a little offset, and can take a wider range of tires. They are as strong as anything. They are harder to come by, cuz they are spares in the turbo models which have 15 inch alloys. Takes 4 cars to complete a set. That guy I told you about has them from time to time. 150 a set of 4.

On a lighter note, Subaru related
Not very often, but sometimes, we get a thread with complaints about folks not paying up or not producing parts. Minimal dishonesty, infrequently. Check this out Last Saturday, had a bunch of Subaru folks meet up at my house, seenig that it's close to I-5 and roughly half way between Eugene OR and Vancouver B.C. Qman, Mike W, Mudrat, two of his buddies, Jim and Greg from B.C. Brian? from the board with the pretty black Brat, Tex, Syphon and Dante in attendance. Mee too. John Mudrat brought up two cars to sell, a gen one Brat, and the lifted wagon. Dante (who we all met in person for the first time that day) bought the wagon from Mudrat. Good old John realized after he'd taken the $ that he'd brought up the wrong title. Dante, without really knowing us, left to go home and get his wife so he could take the wagon home. Get this, trusting me with the keys, and John with a pile of his dough. Came back, got his wagon, it's all good. John also brought up a Brat for Greg from B.C. But, Geg's Dad wasn't able to get the dolly which had been reserved, and didn't have a way to transport the Brat to home. So, they left the Brat in my yard for the week till they can come back, I posess the keys. (Can't drive it, can't bend my leg enough to even get in its little rump roast cab) But still, left a pressious possession in the hands of a stranger. My point being, without knowing us or our reputations, these guys put their trust in us to not disappear with either their money or their Soobs. I think it has to do with the type of cars we deal in, I think trust and good nature just tends to go in hand with Subaru. (now if that one guy would just pay me for the video I seet him and reminded him about after weeks of no payment, weeks ago. . .)

Has anyone moved their fuel tank INSIDE their car?
Miles Fox had a bunch of jerry cans rigged up behind his rear seat in the trash wagon that made it out here. BTW Miles. The big rump roast matt you we talked you into leaving finally lost the gas smell and now it has a new home in Dante's lifted wagon.

15x6 and 15x7 4x140s for $60 to $70 each.
If money were so easy to come by, folks wouldn't bitch so much. Obviously this isn't the board where everybody has 200 bucks to throw at a wheel times 4.
