Road Trip II: TrashWagon's RETURN
this is like way out of proportion. pushing the limits of the BPD, but they have the discretion to manipulate the situation, its pretty much a routine. we will try to go recover the tapes tomorow, or at least make copies. this is out of control. it will see its day in court. also i will see about retrieving my car from impound. its at maxton's, their tow guy hooked me up with the guy in edon. if it has been searched, i dont see why they cant let it go, the car is registered and legal. what the fo'

Road Trip II: TrashWagon's RETURN
yeah, mcbrat was cool, thanks a lot it really helped. sorry i couldnt use the axle, but it was appreciated. those cars we saw for sale, 84 ea81t wagon, and a 84 gl-10 sedan, were in complete shape, been off the road for 10 years and such. we got home all in one piece. only to catch 2 felonies and have the car confiscated. camera in the license branch WHAT? i think they wanted to get into the apartment instead.

Sometimes you have to laugh or else you would cry...
why un-turboed?

does anyone know what this might be??
the only place on the soob motor that i would see appropriate for thread locker would be the timing bely idler pulley on the driver side, and the exhaust studs DO NOT use gasket sealer on a soob, cause the gaskets are graphite faced to allow for different expansion rates

Terminal???
yopu could come to visit a trashwagon and you will be all right. the lifter noise is no big mechanical deal, as far as it wont fail on you. the annoyance will be more your issue. try doing the ol pump seals if that will help

Bad Oil Pump
what happened? did it leak all of a sudden? did the gauge pressure fall to zero? all at once? try checking the wire to the pump sender, it runs along the dipstick tube

Road Trip II: TrashWagon's RETURN
i have in my posession now a TRASHWAGON 5. did some "light" baja'n, broke some stuff, things fell off. but a bad ground and a blown fuse later, we are in sound shape to make our way home so far we have almost 4000 miles behind us, about 5-700 to go, we are chillin at the "eyesore" i tell you his wagon and my wagon go hand in hand among the same caliber. he even had a "honk if anything falls off" , just as mine has. the trashwagon ran out of gas a few times, it took the 3rd time to realize the gauge was not accurate, it runs out when the needle is right above the red. dont worry, the 3 gas jugs i had were stowed on top, and my electric siphon kit saved the day. took lots of pics at each stop, not to mention over 25 hors of footage. we still have another 25 hours of footage left to burn,... the car is in sound shape, i had to replace the fuel filter, as it was done in from the faulty gas tank. i fixed the bulb in the fog lights at a burger king, got a nice sideways drift for the camera in the parking lots. now i dont have any fog lights from catching air in the sand pit here in iowa. all is good, no conflicts. although we did get pulled over in the same town we met the trashwagon, it was the RX this time, for a license plate frame that partially covered the "indiana" on the plate it looks like we will be heading thru the rest of iowa thursday. so if you mcbrat or shawn w woul;d like us to stop by, let us know when so we can pace ourselves accordingly so what happened? ......................................................................

along the way(updated road trip itenerary)
run and hide, lock your doors we will be stopping off in the minneapolis area. we plan to be there 12hrs from when we depart. we plan to leave early in the morning as possible. from there we will sake some side routes back to the highway, closer to soux falls SD. our longest hauls are going to be South Dakota and Wyoming. we will make a flat out run, rotating drivers and sleep. i figure it will be a full day's driving from soux falls to montana. if this all plays out right, we will be ready to meet my car on sunday morning The NORTHERN rout we will dismiss, we will backtrack to wyoming, and cut south to i 80 thru NEBRASKA, IOWA. we will be making some stops along the way in iowa. from what it looks western nebraska is pretty much desolate.

Road Trip II: TrashWagon's RETURN
thanx for bringing this post back, much appreciated!!! all is good now. things are going according to plan the RX no has a good trailing arm, a 5-lug from the trashwagon six. so we have a bum leg so to speak, with a legacy tire. we tried a 13 impreza wheel with the RX tire, but the rim did not clear the XT6 caliper. so by this measure we took out hte rear axles to save the LSD. we will bring the axles, and a rear disk 4-lug pieces, as we may come across a trailing arm along the way. we mounted this van console on the ceiling, reverse mount, and a CB. on the back side is the dome lite facing out, a van light with a switch, and ambient light also in back is a 12 volt plug in. we had the headliner out to mount the ROOF RACK. we will be substituting CARDBOARD for a headliner, to spare the original. as the van console is temporary "unfinished" for the trip. has anyone ever made a conversion wagon? we carpeted the way-back, for comfort. all of the bulky soft luggage will go on top. the RX has proven its reliability having over 5000 miles since the turbo MPFI on carb block swap, open timing belts, and no muffler. it has seen back to back 1000 mile trips, weekends in a row. we will pack minimaly, as when we see trashwagon 5, it will come with spare parts and axle tools. room in back will allow one full body lying diagonally along the driver side folded rear seat. camera equipment will go directly behind the passenger side rear seat. clothes, blankets, or food can go in the rear driver's corner tire iron and plug kit will ride with the spare tire, oil between batt/alt. the jack stows in the rear quarter, towstrap in the other side, axles in the smuggler's box. tools will be packed minimally, subaru survival kit: 12mm socket, extension, ratchet 7/8 crank pulley wrenchbox/open combo 17mm and 19mm wrench 3/16 punch combo 12/14 wrench 10mm socket, and wrench 8mm wrench screwdrivers(stock soob unit) pliers(stock soob) spark plug tool(stock soob, use with 7/8) little pieces of wire, ties, and odd screws, razor blades, tape this is enough tools to do the timing belts, with covers, and axles, anything short of the head gaskets if we planned on doing the head gaskets we will bring also: 1/2 dr ratchet, 17mm socket and extension, torque wrench 14mm socket and extension for 3/8 ratchet 2 of us will have 400 bucks cash each, with atm access to other money if needed. this trip is pretty well covered for, the only thing i am not sure about is what kind of time we will make. but we have a full week anyway.................................................... its coming down to the wire now. we got the key to the apartment, the RX is all fixed, trashwagon6 is a rolling chassis... we will be leaving early in the morning on FRIDAY MAR 19. we will make our first stop 12 hrs later in minneapolis area

Sooner or later, it would have to happen.
the relay will have a power source for the lights or whatever. the switch wire from the relay will go to the switch, and then to +12v the relay is pretty much an electrically powered switch itself
