I have a quick question about a 1981 g32B 1.6 engine. Do these engines, "in general" have decent piston ring life? I have a few of these engines. I know that it depends on a lot, (care/oil, etc.) but for example Subaru engines, have very robust cylinder walls and rings. Do these Mitsu engines stay pretty tight on the lower end over 100K? They seem to smoke at fairly low mileage, but I think it's top end issues that cause Mitsu issues. Would a rebuilt cylinder head be too much for a 100k engine in reasonable condition? What would be a good compression test number for an engine with 100K? Just curious...Thanks! Todd

Turn the axle around and try from the other side. Rememember when re-installing, they only fit one way. If the pin is not going in, you have to turn the axle 180 degrees.

The axle does not have the bearings, the hub does. We have been going back and forth so long...better call me. Todd

Yes, I love my Impreza L coupe EJ18/ 5 speed/ FWD only! It seems to be a rare bird. It's got 74K on it now, so it's a teenager! I do consistently get 30 in city and 34-36 on the highway at about 65mph.

OK...one more question...... approx weight of that same engine WITH heads and manifold, oil pan, oil pump and brackets. No compressor, water pump, alternator etc. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Todd

So it's correct to say that a 1995 Impreza "L" FWD only 5 speed, has a 3.9 rear-end? Did all the 95 Legacies and Imprezas with AWD and a 2.2 have 4.11 rear? Now I'm curious!
