  1. I agree and if I am not mistaken, you can't place that much in transported cars. I'm thinking a box or 2 per car.
  2. How do you make the decision on things like spare body parts, engine parts and and other fairly heavy things? I know if I sell my vintage sheet metal today, tomorrow I will wreck the car! Decisions, decisions!!
  3. Heck 2-3 K is pretty good. It would have to be easier to pick up at one spot and drop at one spot, vs zig zagging with multiple clients. If I could put some stuff in the cars that would be so cool! Moving is just a PITA, but life has a way of changing. I've learned that nothing is permanent! Todd
  4. What do you think would be reasonable $ $ for the hire of a car carrier for 1 pickup and 1 dropoff of: Dallas, TX to Philadelphia (area) 78 Subi wagon 79 Subi wagon 81 Plymouth Champ hatch 79 Dodge Colt hatch 95 Impreza 2 door 95 Impreza 4 door maybe 1 more Legacy I guess I would fill a trailer! I love my cars and I have no intention to sell the vintage ones anyway! Yes, I will keep tools. Everything when it comes to cars and car parts is HEAVY! Years of collecting parts and now years to unload! Always, "I better keep it, I might need it someday". Funny how getting older makes you rethink this justification!
  5. OK...so I am planning a move back to my home state of PA and have become quite challenged with my "collection" of tools, parts, engines, stuff and MORE STUFF! HEAVY STUFF! I'm relocating from TX after 25 years here, so it's not like across the street. Has anyone in the car hobby made a big move? How do you decide on what to take and what to trash, or give away? I have cleaned out ALOT of items, but they seem to regrow overnight! So many things for my vintage 70s Subarus and also my Dodge Colt stuff...(but not so large). Then there is the Impreza/Legacy stuff! Also, any suggestions on transporting 7 cars all at once? What a hassle, but I need to get back home. Thanks, Todd
  6. I believe the Gen 1 trans mount is the same as many of the later version/year models of FWD and 4WD cars thru like 1989. Look at the Rock Auto application for the gen 1 BRAT mount. aDEA Part # A6700 www.rockauto.com
  7. REAR SHOCKS (BRAT) GABRIAL PARTS MASTER 82018 AC/Delco 520-275 Monroe LE10007 REAR SHOCKS MONROE # 1193 (MONROEMATIC) I am also told that these fit rear GEN 1s 1981 - 1987 Ford Granada 1978 - 1983 Ford Fairmont 1979-1986 Mecury Capri 1981-1982 Mecury Cougar 1982-1986 Mercury Marquis
  8. Those damn leaking window seals!!! Leroy is so right! After you get it fixed, place towels under the seat and check after EVERY rain! Better yet...locate a rear window seal.....someplace! That is the issue. We need to get those remade, like we did the front gaskets! At least on the station wagons, you can use the VW beetle one. Good luck! Todd
  9. Quick question: Will a 1996 Impreza AWD automatic trans work/fit in a 2000 Impreza AWD automatic, (non turbo) 2.5? Thanks!!
  10. Your harness is most likely one from a point type system. Most, if not all Subarus in 78, except for CA models, had point type distributors. If you use the whole harness from 78, you will have to do this: http://offroadingsubarus.com/distributor_conversion.html http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=109705&highlight=distributor+electronic http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=50403 When ya gonna get this axle and steering pad?? LOL Cheers! Todd
  11. It seems that vintage stuff gets overlooked, unless it's here. We are a relatively samll group. One stop shopping and buying!
  12. Looking at this jf1gc4350th513300 Thanks!! Todd subaru3@aol.com

  14. I have the lower door trim and I believe I have some perfect original brown seats and also just the covers. I have a gas cap and a left rear taillight/backup light assembly. Todd
  15. Looks like up to 2 pounds is $17.88 US. I have not weighted 4 of these yet. 1 pound is like $14.00
  16. No, the tailights are completely different. Yes, I have some door window cranks. What color? (You can can paint them though). I think what I have are black. Todd
  17. No damage to the pan....I will look for damaged or worn connections. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
  18. What controls the lockup on a torque converter? 1995 4EAT I am getting what appears to be a premature lock up of the converter when it shifts from 2nd - 3rd. It locks up for a moment and then unlocks in 3rd. I get the corresponding reduction in RPMs and then they climb again. Then it again locks up at the right time, after the shift to 4th. Can you disconnect the lock up some way, so I can test? Is it part of all that stuff attactched to the passenger side shock tower? Thanks
