  1. Burning holes in my pistons? Well, it runs just fine though. But, I read somewhere that "you can run rich all day but run lean only once".
  2. Had my motor out of the Legacy so I decided to look at the plugs, because the driver's side is so much more accessable. All four plugs are white. Motor ran fine though. I have a full modular cold air intake and a Flowmaster on the stock exhaust (yes, I always recalibrate the computer). Could it be a bad O2 sensor? Haven't checked any codes yet, will get running today hopefully. CEL comes on randomly due to the underdrive pulley making my knock sensor act up when the A/C is running.
  3. My '80 wagon, JDM EA71, 4" lift (project in process), roof mounted lights. Not the coolest yet...
  4. I have a steel wedge I use to remove front hubs from the struts. I have a bolt and nut that I can link a box wrench and torque wrench at 90* to torque that hard to reach center bolt on EA81 cylinder heads. I use two ball peen hammers as axle removers, one smaller one to rest in the dimple of the hubshaft, and the other to strike the first one without messing up the threads.
  5. Here's a thought... topping off your oil too high might cause oil to leak past the rings at high rpms at an angle (uphill). A friend topped his oil off too high, drove in a tight circle while gunning it, and he blew out so much thick smoke he thought he blew the motor, but instead sloshed excessive oil into the #2/4 cylinders. It was spectacular though.
  6. Someone told me that but I'm not postive. Yeah, who got the rockers off the blue Hatch?
  7. I don't think PAP allows saws, among with jacks and torches. They got a bigass sign in there with the rules. You gotta have an employee cut it off for a fee plus the part.
  8. I wouldn't know where to begin here..... have hauled all kinds of odds and ends and whatever, like a Honda 450 street bike in the back of my old GL on the freeway, half ton of newspapers, car parts, lumber, etc. Thats just hauling. I got a pix of the Brat with my 12' fishing rig in the back, hanging over the cab. Makes the cops stare dumbfounded when they see that. Even went on the highway with it LOL!!! I'll dig that up. As for driving, it can only be done in a Subaru hehehe.
  9. Anybody ever freeze a rim overnight and then mount a nice warm flexible tire and quickly seat the bead? Aluminum shrinks quite a bit when deep freezed. I might try it if I can sneak a rim in the freezer.
  10. Yeah, I have a Tacoma Screw Products locally. Might stop there and check them out if all else fails. A bonus for going there is I can go next door and blast some heat at the range.
  11. I checked out a few head bolts at Arlington PAP while getting a new flywheel for the Legacy(f'n burned it bad!!!), Mazda pickup headbolts and early 20R headbolts are like 10mm, so they didn't work. Suspension bolts don't seem to be long enough anywhere, but Legacy rear bolts(the long rump roast ones at the bottom of the hub) are perfect diameter and thread pitch, but way too long. Gonna keep searching. Gotta go to Lynnwood PAP to return some cores. The black Brat there had.... GCK's!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Is it possible to powdercoat the bead surface to increase diameter to 16"? Or lathe them down to 15"? I've seen trailer tires on 15.5" wheels but that wouldn't be practical with a passenger car though.
  13. "WTF was that?" I get that alot when I'm wheelin LOL!!
  14. Is tying the blocks together standard? Cuz mine are not.
  15. My blocks are homemade with 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" steel stock with square washers welded to each end, with a total of 3 3/4" length. So, I have to use one long bolt per block. Will check out Nissan and Toyota trucks, thanks.
  16. I'm trying to find six bolts, 4 1/2" long, with M12x1.25 thread, grade 8 equivelant for my transmission crossmember lift blocks (EA81). Anybody know of a good vehicle that would have these bolts in the suspension? I'd like to find some at PAP.
  17. Specifically Auburn. Just curious if the car it came from is stick or auto. Don't want to respond to ad because I'm not interested in the diff(sorry). Mostly interested in information about AWD manual trannies for old school Legacy with other than 4.111 gears. Might be a member here....
  18. I think I have gen 1 radius rod bushings, crap.
  19. Aw, that sucks. Bummer dude.
  20. My Hitachi fuel fitting screwed right in place, no tapping whatsoever.
  21. Yeah, I like your pix and vids.
  22. Yeah, not really much wheeling except at the shooting pit just inside the gate. It's probably crowded there now with the locals blastin heat. My friend who lives there told me it is legal to shoot in that pit area only.
  23. Is this at 116th? AFAIK it is open to public access. Pretty damn sure, you gotta register your vehicle just like up at Olney Pass and Lake Chaplain.
