  1. I have a chrome Super Stock coil, and it works great. It's the older one before they outsourced. The newer outsourced ones are the lame ones.
  2. Electronic disty, no points. Believe it's the reluctor. BTW, it's a borrowed JDM EA71 in an '87 STD Hatch. Nippy and Hitachi disties.
  3. Same with my Brat, stock. But my '80 wagon got 4" more lift cuz I clocked em to lift it. Gonna slam the Brat though.
  4. I pulled away from a Chevy pickup with FI 350 at 105 with my Legacy wagon 2.2.
  5. Aw crap, I'm down in Vancouver, and I'll be up in Everett next weekend.
  6. It'll fill up with water alot faster without the carpet, and it'll be noisier too. Drafty too. But you can silicone wherever you need to. I haven't siliconed my rig yet so it gets water in.
  7. I bought all my bushings at Schucks. Most of the bushings are actually OEM Subaru bushings. Sweet. I didn't get sway bar bushings cuz I took it out for offroad.
  8. Where would I find the ignition control module? Nevermind, found it.
  9. The hatch does not have a revo sensor. Its an ea81. Pita is pain in the a$$
  10. The coil is hot on the postive post, but not on the negative post..... any advice would be nice, this is a real PITA.... Don't wanna towstrap 250 miles.
  11. BTW, it was running fine and just quit and wouldn't fire back up. Guess I'm gonna skip work tomorrow.
  12. Had it running, but it quit and doesn't seem to get fuel or fire. All fuses fine, fusible links ok. The coils we tried wouldn't spark and the fuel pump doesn't pump. Cheched the filters too. It's an '87 Hatch std, with my JDM EA71 outta my wagon. We're stumped and we gotta get this car going. We're down in Vancouver, WA, gotta drive it up to Everett.
  13. Anybody ever take off the asv spacers on the exhaust ports and put the original header back on? If so, how's the clearance?
  14. I paid $500 for my '90 Legacy L awd (full time 4wd, it says) wagon:grin: . 5 speed.
  15. Let us know how much of coil you cut off the 4wd springs. I plan on slamming my Brat too.
  16. RWD is great fun unless it snows and then you miss 4wd so bad. If you want RWD, fix the slop and have fun.
  17. This thread just got me thinking of an EA8* powered generator/compressor combo that could power a whole jobsite if the utility power goes out. Would be sweet in my line of work, keep workin and gettin paid. Keep the nailguns poppin and saws buzzin. Could put something like that in the back of my Brat.
  18. Water down your motor? Scary, water doesn't compress. Blow anything like a HG or a piston ring yet?
  19. Try powdercoating em. Eastwood sells a kit for like $100 for powdercoating at home. But you gotta get a compressor and an oven to cure em.
  20. A '90 Legacy L wagon for a sweet $500. Real nice car too, nicest I've owned yet. Now I have a decent vehicle that I don't have to work on every weekend, but it does need some work. Inner DOJ boots are torn, previous owner had a bit of tranny trouble, kept popping out of gear. I just held it in gear driving home no prob. Later, I lost third gear. Shifter stays put now, but it's no fun without third. But, I love the low end torque the EJ22 puts out. All the glass is tinted, power everything, a/c, etc. For another $400, I'll buy the 17" rims the previous owner had on it. Needs new shocks too, might get KYB and maybe Eibach springs, lower it a bit.

    Lift Q

Would it be fine if I use the stock (or equevelant grade 8) hardware to bolt the blocks to the chassis, and bolt the crossmember, etc to the blocks with separate fasteners? This idea is stuck in my head.
  22. They have a 250 Demon two barrel. I've seen it on a six-pack setup for v-8's. Summit has that kit. They might sell individual carbs too. That would be sweet.
