Help ... Please
I've blown a couple front diffs which rendered fwd useless. Not sure that's your problem though, not moving in high range.

Bent rear control arm
EA81 torsion bar. Wondering how common it is. I replace my driver's side cuz it was tucked in a bit too much (must have been that pothole I hit when I was tearing up a dirt lot in RWD) new one straightened it out. Also replaced the passenger side, was fine but had a bad bearing and for 20 bux I swapped the whole thing(control arm). But, now the passenger side has the tucked in look(toe in). I have my torsion bars clocked down a notch. Been that way for years now, never had a problem. Just wondering if it's common to bend em outta whack(besides for me). Yes, I take 'er offroad. But, I didn't bend the fresh passenger side control arm, got it that way at PAP. Didn't notice until it was installed and driving.

I gotta go spray my rims a little more around the bead surface.

13" Tires
185/80R13 is the biggest I've ever rolled on 13" rims. Just got some 14x5.5" 6 lug Mazda rims. Plan on rolling 195/75R14 MT if they come in that size. If not, I'll get 205's.

Rally course question?
Were those cars that broke modded? Bone stock Subaru(EA81) seems to take driving the h3ll outta it pretty good (in my experience).

Another Stupid Exhaust Question
I believe the exhaust diameter should be consistant from the DP to the tailpipe to be most effective.

Warms up then quits running
IT IS THE CARB!!!! Just took her for a spin, stays running, but, kinda hesitated a bit, might tear the carb back apart and put a brand new float needle valve in. Still getting a Weber though. Or two. Or three. Got an extra engine or two, maybe hi-po buildup.

passed State Inspection 14!
Oh man, serious about chains on ice. I spun out 180 in 4wd turning a corner from a stop sign real slow in my wagon. It was slow motion spin, I was like "please don't hit anything!!!!". Didn't hit anything. But had to do a wide u-turn to get back going the other way. No traffic, it was 4 am.

passed State Inspection 14!
Man, I used to have an '74 Celica, first year GT was imported to the states. Crashed her twice though. Looked bada$$ with the '85 Supra factory mags with big n little tires, old school musclecar style. Still got the grille, headlight buckets and trim, rear taillights and trim, GT embalems, HOOD VENTS!!!!!!!!! And the real cool gas cap/filler spout that was mounted up high.

WOW!!! An '81 from WA with no rust probs??? All the rain we get here, WOW!! My '83 Brat is rusted bad at the bottom of the doors and the rocker panels. But my '80 wagon isn't bad at all, just a few spots, and a couple minor holes in the floor, but the '80 is for off road, so it's pretty banged up here and there, but still rolling strong. Even though, I gotta use her for a daily driver every now and then...... RWD at the moment.

passed State Inspection 14!
Maine specs sucks!! Plus, they should outlaw salting the roads. WTF!!!! The state is responsible for destroying countless vehicles!!! Sue the $#!t outta the state for destruction of property. You pay for tabs, registration, gas tax, tolls(where required), and they are responsible for ruining your vehicle. They can be held liable big time. I would love to meet a JURY that disagrees. Espacially(sp?) a jury that recognizes Subaru's abatity(sp?) (had a few pints)

Shop/Club night Bellingham Offroaders
I'm wondering if I can hang with you guys sometime. My high school was a crock, didn't let me take the classes I wanted, nor taught anything realistic to real life that I experience now. I really love working with metal and would appreciate learning so much what you guys do up in B-ham.

ATTN: EA82 home made lifts, Please read this
Dunno about EA82(coilover rear shocks) but my torsion bar EA81 got clocked down a notch, now I gotta put 1.5" box steel to make the front match the rear height. The rear diff is in STOCK location with no DOJ failure for several years. Especially with the rear tire like four feet off the ground. But, GD's EA82 DOJ cup swap is pretty cool, I might do that if I get longer shocks. The rear travel is unbelievable when I took the shocks out, almost cannot jack the rear tires off the ground!!!!!! I don't recommend trying that at all. I only did that when I was swapping new shocks in.

K&N plenum
WTF is that thing anyway? The cab of my rig can get pretty dusty if I don't roll the windows up. A snorkle can help too if you don't want your motor breathing up all your breathing air. Depends on your driving habits(reverse fwd donuts kick up $#!t all over man!!!! )

broken pcv valve
Try not to break the intake bolts, I've broken a few. Plus, use antiseize on the threads. They didn't do that at the factory, those dumba$$es

Fwd Woes!!!
I've been able to climb some slopes in reverse better than forward in 4wd offroad cuz of the extra weight up front gives much more traction. Also, how's your struts? Mine are so shot the front end hops like a basketball taking off easy.
