My New 91
i bought this a few months back from the original owners, they drove it nearly 100 miles a day since 1990 it has 344k on it, original everything, runs and shifts perfect, its a 5spd awd since ive had it i lifted it a few inches on forrester GR2 struts, and trailing arms put 225 60 16 mts on it, with painted forrester wheels i put a trailer hitch on, flowmaster super44, and a cold air intake i also tinted the windows and added the roof rack its my daily driver, and gets 25-27 avarage mpg. this is my 18th subaru, and the cleanest by far, love it:banana:

odd problem forester 2.5
hey guys- i want to pick a few subaru brains here. 2000 forester 2.5 sohc auto idles great, runs great- but while driving, if you accelerate, or come to an incline, it stumbles, acts as though its out of gas, if you let off it goes away. typically its at its worst between 1500 and 2750 it has- new plugs and wires, new air and fuel filters, new pcv, ect everything sensor wise is clean..... cat was replaced a few years ago- 02 sensors replaced a few years back, she says less then 20 since then ideas?

How many miles is too many?
Crawlerdan replied to danbennett2u's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi just bought a 91 with 343k- runs like it just rolled of the showroom floor. looks like it to- the ej22 is hard to hurt. the tranny on the other hand.... i used to have a leggo with 395k, sold it to a freind 5 years ago, he came over to put a clutch in a few weeks ago and it sits a 615k now, properly maintaned, these cars will go forever

Red Sedan Build , solid rear axle
is that a toy axle? if so, your going to have issues with overheating if you run it upside down like that. the third members do not have adequate cooling vallys if run upside down. of course these issues will only be present at speeds of 35 or faster. also , alot of guys drybox them- fill the whole diff with grease. or you could try to overfill it with oil.... just an obsevation- good luck

Project junkyard monster! EJ22T block/EJ25 SOHC heads - advice?
i agree with tex here, i built a hybrid as he described a few years back, 438 wheel horsepower (there where ALOT of supporting mods) but it was a very drivable car

Aerodynamics
i had a 94 loyal wagon, lifted 2 inches, 27 inch all terrains, 5 spd, non turbo, consistantly saw 42mpg in it, but i would get on teh highway and not pull off till it needed fuel, i had a 362 mile commute. the larger tires effectively acted like an overdrive on the hwy, reducing rpms at a given speed

nissan transmission compatability??
ive seen the GM trans behind a subaru... that was cool, 8 second wrx or something like that, the guy is local, crazy:slobber:

nissan transmission compatability??
so i was thinking... i used to have a 1992 legacy wagon with an auto, the 4eat died a horrible death as most doo- so i pulled it and took it to a trans shop to be rebuilt. when i got there- the owner of the shop said " ah- a pathfinder , huh?" to which i replied, "no, subaru" he says" oh, same thing, same tranny" he indicated that the trannies use many of the same parts, filters, bands and clutches, ect. this makes me wonder if it would be feasable to use a pathfinder trans in a solid axle set up to gain a true t case, ect. just thinking out loud. hell maybe you could pull the tail housings off and apply the nissan tcase...

Transmission compatability??
Crawlerdan replied to Crawlerdan's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi have a factory transmission gear chart, both are listed as 4.11s with hydro push clutches. and all foresters came with an ej25, as did my outback...so in my mind its a swap- but as ive stated before, im an ea expert, not an ej

Transmission compatability??
i have a 2000 legacy outback wagon- with 4.11 5spd trans. it took a superpoop i need to know what other transmissions i can put in, obviously must me another 411 5spd- but for example, a 99 forester 411 5spd- direct swap? im aware that they have different 1st05th gear ratios,i could care less- as long as it bolts in, throws no codes, and i dont need to modify axles or drivelines. please help asap- my car is down and i have small subie enthusiests that need to go to school
