  1. I have worked in several parts departments, at several dealerships......and ALWAYS, the customer price for a cv axle was inflated to 150.00 regardless of what it cost us from the downtown auto parts store. We would often buy axles aftermarket for as little as 50.00:-\ I wasnt so happy about screwing people over.....but you hafta do what youre told if you know what I mean. So, in short....I would say that price is way too high for even the parts alone. Hope this helps:rolleyes:
  2. I was gonna say that was the coolest part:banana:
  3. I second the pics request. I wanna see (and I thought I was the only one that ever drove around in a "mossy" subaru:clap:
  4. GD, you rock man:headbang: I just ordered a set for my brat, and tossed 'em on. They were @ my door in 2 days, and I saved a TON of $$$$ Many thanks for the info:clap:
  5. WOW thats beautiful!!! Can I have the motor?!
  6. I just use a pair of needle-nose vicegrips (clipped to the hood release cable) ......then my compartments are free.....and I have a handy place to keep the vice grips:brow:
  7. Well Chris, I dont think Im gonna be a lotta help.....but free "bump" My '03 BAJA just did the same thing to me as well! :-\
  8. OK BOYS....... I REALLY wanna get some larger / meatier tires for the meet......but a brats a brat......she's on the road.....and Im ready to wheel!
  9. Well dudes..... THE BRAT IS LEGAL!!!! :headbang: (just got back from the dmv) Ill be at paragon before we know it. can I get a HELL YEAH?
  10. Where'd you get those steelies and tires? They would go GREAT on my baja! I am in awe:clap:
  11. The 5$ primitive camping @ paragon sounds great to me! Im in for that. Anybody else gonna camp? We should get a site together. MY g/f informed me she WONT be coming..... she said that it would be too much subaru for her all at once! ........too much SUBARU?! I guess we've gotta have a talk:grin:
  12. -also....maybe we better go to Harry's later in the day (after we break stuff wheelin)
  13. Do you know the area around Paragon very well Jon? I am wondering where might be good to pitch a tent (state park, KOA) ???- bummer if you couldnt camp out man. :-\ Any pointers?
  14. As far as I know, the 15th was the weekend that kinda worked for everyone .... (if we have to change it, I dont know if I can go):-\ So not "set in stone" ....but "would be nice" 75 subie had the inspiration for this meet, and so I would ask him to be sure (sorry Jon if I am mistaken) As for what to bring.....the website says something about a tow strap, a full size spare, and hard "recovery" points on the front and rear. Of course....spare parts and tools if you have them are always nice! Is anybody planning on doing any camping? I think that camping/wheeling would be GREAT:headbang: ...that, and it would be kinda hard to make a day trip out of it for some of us Im sure. Lookin forward to it!!!!
  15. -03 BAJA EJ25 (obviously runs and drives fine) -89 GL wagon EA82 (D/R parts car) -86 BRAT EA81 runs great and drives smooth:banana: -84 GL wagon EA81 runs but no longer moves (integral part of the ground it sits on) (parts only) -79 wagon EA71 (parts only) -78 wagon EA71 (parts only)
  16. A gets my vote for sure! Looks nice!
  17. Dont laugh....I have a gunrack in my baja (not kidding) ...and it IS a good reach back there! :-\
  18. Id be up for trying a level 2....sounds like good times!
  19. Ive been working to get my brat on the road and going all that I can! I think this may be the week. I got everything fixed that is necessary.....and she runs great! Im comin to this meet if its the last thing I do:headbang: PS - somebodys gotta post me some directions to this place
  20. That is one of the most beautiful things Ive seen in a long time!!!
  21. Ive had the bedliner "sides" off of my baja....and there is a LOT of room in places (5 inches maybe!) I would say that you should have no problems if you were to put the outlet into say, one of those recessed "pocket" areas on the sides. That way youre semi-protected from damaging the outlet too! BTW ...great idea! I may just hafta do this to mine as well:banana: post some pics if you get 'er done!
  22. Both my '78 and '79 wagons are pretty complete. Theyve been SITTING for EVER.....but ARE complete. The wheels were removed by my dad years ago.....but the axles are still there. I also do have front and rear ea81 axles off of the '84 wagon. (well....there still on it but you know what I mean) If you want em..... my main problem is the TIME spent to get them off.....(ive been sooooo busy lately) but gimme a few bucks for my time, and if you wanna pick em up or ship em.....what would you say theyre worth? Lemme know man:grin:
  23. Hmmmmmm ....youre tempting me again Jon! PM me with all the details if you DO wanna sell 'er....and Ill see what $$ I can come up with:brow:
