  1. hi guys, i`m looking at an ea81t wagon, of course with an auto tranny. the guy says it needs a turbo. i have a few questions tho. what could i do to make it reliable, and not something that will be blowing hg's, overheating or smoking? what i am thinking is a 4speed d/r swap, some kind of intercooler (what works?) a bov (any suggestions?) i don`t need a power house, but do these have any more guts than a n/a ea81?
  2. yea, i`d believe this to be a $1k hatch over in WA only because they are ALOT more common over there.
  3. i don`t know, but i just think $2k is a bit high to the average guy for an 83 car. if i got $1675 for my 87 4wd hatch, i`d probly take it, and it is very comparable, no rust, great interior, and 4wd and manual trans.
  4. not sure if this is the same for gen 3s, but i tried putting singles on my dual headlight ea81 and the whole nose (rad support) was actually different, along with the wiring. it looked like a bigger job than you would think.
  5. i`m going to paint the hatch black, but i need some suggestions. what do you guys think would look best, 1. Black with gold stripes and gold wheels 2. black with red stripe and red wheels 3. black with white stripe and white wheels 4. black with silver stripe and silver wheels Or?? here is the hatch in question...
  6. Connie, offer this guy $350 if it doesn`t sell, and have Rory fix the rust http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUBARU-1994-LOYALE-STATION-WAGON_W0QQitemZ220027993530QQihZ012QQcategoryZ6467QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  7. if this is the one i`m thinking of, a black 84 t-brat with pushbar for $550, i think its a good deal, heck, if you get it, and don`t like it, providing it is rust free, i`d give you $600:D
  8. wow!! lookin good you guys work fast! seems like it was yesterday when i saw the pics of it all un-assembled. some nice factory mudflaps would add a very good touch to that. i can help you out with both passenger side OEM flaps if you want them.
  9. yea, that has been done:D one guy used a 1100 suzuki motor in his 360. he attatched it to the original gearbox, so he had like 20 different gear combinations and reverse. it was a neat setup, but it was toooo crazy fast for everything else to be original. if you mod the brakes/suspension, that would be sweet. it would probly be easier to go with a VW beetle drivetrain. i used to have a van, and now i have a 360 truck.
  10. make sure its nitro powered:D that will greatly improve the fun factor
  11. man, drive over with it and i`ll check it out:grin: but yea, the squeeling is most likely your wheel bearings. you should be able to jack it up and hear it. the stumble could be some junk stuck in your carb, or as gd said, a vacume leak. go WEBER and fix all those probs:brow:
  12. well, there are at least 3 members in the 360 club with 150,000 on their vans. there are also several members with over 70k. these cars were made to drive, just ask Ed Parsil in AZ (subaru360nut) i`d say 2000-2500 is fair if its nice. yes, parts are available. many cross references
  13. its alright to leave only one bolt out. whats the worst that could happen? i used a pass. side seat in the drivers side of mine, just switched the tracks. the seatback lever is gonna gouge the heck out of your console tho. its worth it if you have a torn up drivers seat, but a good pass side spare seat
  14. cool man, mine is on the road and i have my liscence back, so just let me know when you have a chance. i might be going up to New berlin to see John for some offroading
  15. hey, welcome to the club! i live right in newburgh, and am a subaru fanatic. had many 1600 subes, but now i only have 1 subaru 1800 4wd hatch, and a 1968 subaru 360 pickup. Paul or Andrew are about the only other guys that would take your stuff. well, theres probly others, but not on this board.
  16. oh, and can i drive it with the beefed up ea81 before you go tearing it apart?
  17. thinking about it, Ryan (88HM) is doing a simular swap, but i think his is an ej22tt. i don`t think he has started the swap, but he's done alot of brainstorming on it. you may want to contact him. he has also completed an ej22 swap into his lifted hatch, that may be an easier swap for you, plus, that would still be a non-interference motor that would do 30mpg, and you can keep your stock tranny. ej22s are known to do 300k, heck, look at some of the old legacy mail cars.
  18. those are awesome:slobber: maybe i'll roll mine over soon:brow:
  19. i thinking about doing a weber swap tommorow on the hatch. i have an ea82 intake as well, but it sounds like it might be tough to use it unless you plug some holes, so i guess i`ll stick with the original intake. i have a weber/adapter plate off a ea71, is the adapter the same? anything i should be concerned with about doing the swap?
  20. lookin alot better man, glad to see those parts went to good use! is the drivers fender/bumper a lil out of alignment from the previous accident? floors look great too! that thing looks ready for road use. we'll have to meet up again sometime with the hatches. i`m lovin driving the white one
  21. looks pretty well spent to me just take out the drivetrain, and anything else worth anything, and sell them:cool:
  22. TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN:burnout: for an auto with all the rust, that is extremly good money. oh, and i`m sorry for the delay, just got the lens out today:-\ , been busy with school.
