well, i just prepared it for NY weather, cleaned it all out, buffed/polished it by hand with the quality stuff, the paint shined up real nice. it just came from AZ this year. it also has new snow tires on the Mag wheels. -
steering might also be a problem with the 4 wheels in the back, i know that was always a problem with the 6 wheeled toyota motorhomes. if you could get rid of that problem, it would be sweet! especially if you did it on a hach for a short wheelbase, it would probly go over anything:D i was thinking about putting dual rear wheels on the 78 brat with whale fenders and stacks, it would look like a big rig:lol:

had them, and hated them (not the cars, the RUST:eek: :-\ ) i`m sold on west coast cars, even if you have to pay $500 shipping, it sure beats playing around with rust for months. My AZ brat is one of the cleanest i`ve ever owned, and it was well worth paying for the shipping, here is a pic. as soon as it came from AZ, it was undercoated and treated. Oh, its for sale BTW :-) -
i got tired of paying the shop $12 a wheel, so i went out and bought one of those $50 tire changers, and it works like a charm, now to find a cheapo balencer:brow:
-
hi Rory, i too am interested in the 1/4 panel, how much are you asking for it? oh, and welcome back and congrats on the new wagon:brow: i was looking at a new Outback XT today for $23,500, but it was an 05 leftover.
-
 got the duallies today, they look GREAT:D
-
happy St. Patricks Day! drive carefully:drunk:
-
i will try to get some pics soon. right now it has a few different colored panels on it (rust free and straight) i switched them because the old ones had some dents/rust. it is a pretty straight car, just needs to be painted to match. definatly a great resto project, or daily driver/ off road beater. plus you can park it next to your baja:brow:
-
oh yea, i can deliver it as far as New Berlin (or within that area) for a small fee.
-
sorry for the semi hi-jack, but i have an 86 brat that would be perfect for a lift project. it runs good, and has very little rust, front and rear strut/shock mounts are VERY solid, floors are VERY solid. it does have t-tops. just needs a gasket on the pass side of the y-pipe. i am looking to get $700 for it, located in Walden NY by Newburgh
-
THANKS for the heads up man!! i just ordered a set:D
-
i have met Adam and seen his project, it really is a beauty, looking forward to seeing it when it is done:headbang: the car itself looked spotless in and out, and so did the gas motor that is now sitting in my back yard:lol:

i don`t know if mine was original or not, but it had a regular i4 in it, looked like a late 60s morris mini engine, maybe it was adapted into there?
-
actually thinking about it, the minor might have been pretty roomy under the hood if i remember right. this is the body style mine was: and this is what the lloyd looked like: http://www.microcarmuseum.com/tour/lloyd-alexander.html there was also a crosley sitting in Newburgh ny for the longest time, not sure if it is still there.
-
man, i didn`t know you had a minor too:-p ! you have one of everyhing:lol: have any pics of it? i used to have a white morris minor 2 door, unrestored rust bucket, but man, that thing was cool, definatly alot more of a driver than a 360. mine still sits in Ellenville NY (traded it for a leCar rally sport), pretty much rusted beyond safe now, but i bet it still runs. what went wrong with yours? do you have any other cars like this? i also had a Hillman Minx, a lloyd alexander, and there is a Daf and vespa 400 for sale down the road from me. of course there was also the 360 van. always wanted a citroen 2cv:D an ea81 in a morris would be super sweet, but i can`t remember how big these things were under the hood, i don`t think it was wide enough for an ea81. is this what you were looking for from an ea81 junker?
-
time to whip out the sawzall:D then you just would need to make a rear cab wall from something:-p
-
yeah, i bought all the stuff to paint my 86 brat from Maine. i just got a $8 can of gloss navy blue rustoleum, a high density foam roller, a bunch of sandpaper and a foam brush. i am going to test this method on a fender before the whole car is done. it should be pretty scratch and rust resistant though
-
Hell Yes!! i offered the guy $40 for his justy, as i really don`t need it, but it doesn`t look like he is gonna take it anyway. probly a good deal for someone looking for a justy

A picture of my '86 hatch...

Jerry, email me those pics: ruppenduro@yahoo.com i`ll post them up for you asap if you can send them in the next couple minutes. -
i too am looking at a fwd justy now. its a 94 5sp 140k for $75. the body is not bad, interior is clean. i have 1 lousy pic of it, but it doesn`t look to bad, has the original hubcaps like yours and it has a/c. would you recomend one with your experience so far? i am thinking of making something to look like this:brow: (pic below, not the actual car, just a lame justabrat photo-chop)
-
there were also like 3 4wd justys at Gary's UPULLIT in Binghamton NY
-
if you can, try and get the ea81 motor too, they are different, and VERY rare. the exhaust ports and intake ports are larger for better flow. it still will easilly work on a standard ea81, but the other engine would have even better power.
