yeah, mine are presses steel.maybe your brat was wrecked and then fixed with those or ??? -
just got back from a 4 hour trip to go look at a 1985 brat.turns out, i am the proud new owner:banana: .it was in beautiful shape.130k d/r 4sp.no rust on it and the bed is spotless.the jumpseats still have the little covers on the seatbelts.i am jumping of joy. now something has got to go:the yota p/u, the 80 brat, or the 360 van.what would you suggest?any offers? jon
-
seahag, those seats are beautiful!!could i ask where you got your dash redone, and about how much they charged.i am interested in getting mine redone too.thanks jon ps.hows progress on the 84?
-
they would need to be adapted, but its usually pretty easy.i have done it a couple times without welding in other cars.just some drilling and fitting.you also may be able to unbolt the base from your original seats and adapt it to new ones.
-
there are many options at a local junk yard.just measure the maximum width, and look around.look for clean and comfortable ones.hyundai accent seats look like they would fit perfect.very comfortable and most of them have a drivers side center folding arm rest.i was also thinking of 01-05 impreza seats.good luck Jon

How frustated can I get ????????
75subie replied to Twowagons's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
check the coolant.mine would do the same exact thing before i put a new water pump in it.the idle would take sooooo long to kick down, but now it idles at a steady 900 rpm. if you do get to frustrated with it, just don`t make it into a planter.i would take it off your hands for ya:brow: good luck on fixing it, once its running right you will be gad you put the time into it:burnout: -Jon -
go to your local "Dollar Tree" and pick up a bottle of this spray called "Awesome Stuff" (its in a spray bottle, not a can).you can`t beat that stuff for a seat cleaner.i had spilled rice and beans all over my hyundai`s seats (from the spanish food stand) and i sprayed that stuff over it, let it sit a while, then scrubbed the heck out of it.can never tell there was a stain there now.i would recomend it highly;)

advanced auto sells the correct gaskets for $2 ea.i bought a couple when i intstalled the exhaust on my brat.you can look the gaskets up on there website, or if there is a avanced auto store local to you, its worth the trip.got any pics of your brat? -
i think it is some franchises are better than others.i used the one by me twice and have had nothing but luck.they painted my 360 sedan for 500 including rust work.the paint is three years old now, and still looks and shines nice.i only know of one rust bubble on the whole car.i also had a honda painted by them, and will for shure use them again.i would recomend the maaco in middletown NY, but i don`t know about others.i would still say, go for it! good luck, jon

Whats my best option here
75subie replied to regularman's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
if you ever do decide to sell the rx, please let me know.i would be interested. if you do want to fix it with a stock ea82t, they are about $350-420 on ebay for a JDM.but you could find some on the board a little cheaper. -Jon -

I think the RX needs a paint job
75subie replied to tizzle's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
if you do decide to get it painted, bring it to maaco.they did a heck of a job for me for 500 including doing some rust work.that is unless you like doing paint work, i just didn`t feel like doing it.good luck, jon -
