ok so i was cruzin around the other day and my 86 subaru wagon just dies i crank and crank and crank nothin so i get out check spark none i check my fuses all good crank again nothing so i check th fusable links none are blown so i run a wire direct to the pos on the coil crank she fires on the first try i drive home shut the key off it keeps running duh forgot i ran a direct hot so i open th hood pull the wire and it dies i try to start it again without the hot nothing. and if i remove the hot when the car is running it dies so any one know what wire to check if the coil isnt getting power. all the plugs are good. nad i redid all the grounds. i have done this i had an old datsun truck wit hteh crank on the front it was original. then i had a riding lawn mower with a broken recoil so i used a rope wraped around the top of the magnito and a stick on the end for a T handle and riped away. by the end of the summer i had a nice set of guns and a good amount of money from mowing all thos lawns. hmmm i wanna try it now lol ill see if i can do it and put upa video

the only problem i have ever had with a disty besides one blowing up (long story) is the coils NP coils work on NP distys NP coils DO NOT WORK on hitachi distys idk about the other way around. but i do know i spenta week trying to figur out why my car would not run only to come to the conclusion that i put the wrond disty in it.

im up for the flyers let me know when and where i can get them and ill post them up around the local shops.

hey been driving my car for a wile and having the problem with the blinker screwing up the voltage and fuel needles well finaly had time to pull the cluster out and found this as the problem simple fix just used a circut from another cluster but just wondering if any one has ever had this happen and been able to solder it. any who this conection i am refering to looks like the turbo light option for the gl my car is an 86 gl 5sp DR just figured if any one was having problems like this they might check that Rob.

ok i know you all hate me but i have an ea82 and when i turn the key on all the lights come on but it wont turn over no lights dim or anyhting i tryed to jump it and it didnt work i checked all my fuses and ground car worked fine last time i started it what could be wrong i searched for the thread about this but couldent find it thanks Rob:(

well its only a 12 gallon tank and i have a very free flowing 2 1/2 inch exhaust

ok so my Girlfriend is going to school in california in a month and im going to be driving there to see her for our 2year aniversary may15. my questions are what should i worry about like mechanicle wise. its only 621 miles there and 620 miles back (gotta love google maps lol) i figure the car can handle it im going to bring some oil new spark plugs,cap,roter,wires. also i will bring a disty (it has gone out befor) alternator oh and my tool bag. im gonna change the air filter befor i go. I have a spair tire but other than that i think i will be fine. im gonna be driving my faithful ea71 1980 suabru gl-5 wagon 5 speed 2wd and i have been puting it through some test runs the last few weeks such as taking it on longer and longer drives went to levenworth,wenachee,vantage, and i go to jerrys in selah about every other weekend. last week i filled the tank and went 289 miles befor the gas light started to flicker on so im thinking i can get 300 from a tank but i wont push my luck. im gonna change my fuel filter and bring a spair fuel pump. and for those who are just dieng to know she is going to cullinary <did i spell that right? school to be a chef the school is in sacramento IIRC i will be visiting her at her aunts in oroville then her and i will go to san francisco im really exited to see the GGB wooh :banana: i will make shure to get TONS of pics. but for the month befor hand i want to get everything ready. so any one have any info on what mihgt be good to have with me. any tips. also would be cool to meet some of the USMBers down that way. well as its about 2 months away i would be able to go my lift should be done in a few days and then i will put my welded diff in and be able to put my 31 inch mud terrains on wooh this will be fun and ill have plenty of time to get the bugs out. :banana:
