  1. Congrats on your new ride Dalton. When I get my moving out of the way and I get settled in my new job I'll have some free time to help ya with the rear discs.
  2. Dang you caught me! hehe Subaru's are good for logging trails and snow. Toyota's will eat up just about anything else. Build it Brian!
  3. You are joking right? Please pinch me. Guess I'll just go buy a Ford.
  4. Subaru has lost it's "Subaru" appeal. And whats up with the window frames???
  5. I need to do as much as I can by myself. Money is a big issue right now and I need to buy tires.
  6. There is a noticeable tilt to the wheel when you look at it. Is this Something I should tackle by myself? I don't have any equipment or anything. Maybe take it to the dealer?
  7. I did a search and found mixed information whether or not the rear wheels can be aligned. My soob is a 88 GL and the drivers rear tire is wearing at an amazing rate. Mostly wearing on the inside of the tire. I need new tires now but before that I need to know if I can align the rear or I'm just gonna have to live with it. Jeremy
  8. Here is a thread that might help you out. Has pictures of the PCV kit and part numbers http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16162
  9. There is a guy who lives off highway 20 up near White Cloud who owns a few brats. I meet up with him once. He's a strange fella. :-\ So that might have been him. Another dude lives in Rough and Ready with a few more... Could have been him too.. haha I know of a lifted 84 wagon in Nevada City. It's mine, maybe I'll see ya around someday.
  10. Oh dang really? Not being from the area I had no idea where to go. Next year I will find out where those trails are!! Thanks Zapar.
  11. WCSS is a fun event and I hope to make it up next year. The only issue I would like to address was there was no mountain trails for a stock rig to play. I drove my stock 88 because of the 35mpg I get opposed to 18 I get with my lifted 84 GL. The trails were just a bit much for my little stocker. Maybe there were some trails I could have explored but I had no map of the property. But I always enjoy meeting fellow Subaru nuts like myself. Car show was a blast too. Thanks for all who made it happen. Mike if it was up to me I would have awarded you Best of Show for your Brat. I was really impressed with what you have done with it. Congrats. I also have a lifted rig so we should all get together sometime and do some 'real wheelin'. Go somewhere Dave can't reach us!! *just messin Dave* Dave, what do I owe you for the cargo cover? Oh and I got the fender all fixed up. Thanks to Pick n Pull... Jeremy
  12. As I recall the last year of the EA82 5 speed dual range was 1989. Not sure on the 4 speed duals for the EA81. That might be 89 also.
  13. Thank you for that very detailed post, you have assured some hope in this car. I will start with the cooling system, radiator, thermostat... then go from there. I use the 50-50 pre mixed stuff.
  14. The one thing that is worrying me is the bubbles in the over flow. The Coolant was changed last year when I had the engine out, but I never replaced the thermostat or cap. I just changed the thermostat, radiator, coolant, water pump, hoses in my 88GL. It was overheating, but never blowing coolant out of the filler like the Legacy is. The Legacy has 180k on it, so I'm sure the radiator is ready to be replaced. Maybe a plugged rad is causing the weird pressure issues?
  15. I would like to get anyones opinion for my overheating problem. I'm thinking head gasket... The temperature in Reno is been over 100 degrees for the past few days, so I have been running the AC on my 90 Legacy. Temp gauge always stays in the middle... never moves. But yesterday I noticed it climbing to the 3/4 mark while I was climbing a hill. I killed the AC and slowed down, the engine was pinging like mad, so I slowed down more. I made it over the hill and started to coast down the other side and the temp gauge stayed at the 3/4 mark. Strange. Popped the hood when I got home and noticed both fans were running. (good) But the upper radiator hose had no pressure, it was almost sucked in. Lower hose had pressure. Overflow was full and bubbling like mad. This is when I thought head gasket. Turned the engine off and let it cool a little. Still bubbling in the over flow and the upper hose was still flat. I opened the radiator cap, just about killed myself there was so much pressure on that side. I filled the radiator up and started the engine without the cap on. Coolant must have shot out 4' in the air. 2 hours later I started her up and drove around the block, everything seemed fine (except for the pinging) and the upper hose had pressure again. But the cooling fans never would shut off. Gauge was at 1/2. I'm screwed huh? Let me know what you guys think. Damn that was long winded!!!
  16. Na, Nevada is just bad luck. (personal experience)
