I send customers to advance auto, the one down the road from where I work will bend them for you if you have one to pattern by.

1979 GL brake question
I highly doubt you'll find prebent lines for this era, you'll most likely end up having to bend the tubing to fit.

86BRATMAN replied to naldo's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXcould you possibly upload some pictures of the engine, specifically the valve covers, intake manifold, and the intake manifold bolt pattern to the heads, among other thing this would help identify the engine

Converting ej22 from HLA to manual adj lifters/ frankenmotor
86BRATMAN replied to hankosolder2's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXonly the 95 ej22 is roller if I remember right, and you can definitely tell a difference on the wear pattern of the cams looking at the two. but the machine work that would most likely have to happen to do this wouldn't be worth it imo

86BRATMAN replied to 1-3-2-4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe end on the head its an absolute p.i.t.m.f.a. but it can be done

EGR pipe
86BRATMAN replied to 1-3-2-4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIn or out of the car the best tool for the job, at least if you need to reuse the pipe is one of those open boxed brake line wrenches. I've done a few the last week or so pulling some engines apart and between the brake line wrench, pb blaster, and a hammer I haven't had any trouble.

E-85 gas in Subie not made for it?
86BRATMAN replied to Rooster2's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI work for a Ford dealership, and it's recommended on the flex fuel vehicles to run a full tank of non e85 through them every 3000 miles to prevent damage to the fuel system and engine. I wouldn't chance it, hell I don't even like running 10-15% ethanol as much as I do.

Hi ho hi ho, its off to the shop the PITA goes!
86BRATMAN replied to TYLER R's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXthere is no ecu/wiring changes needed, if you can get lucky and find a 95 auto ej22 you'll have a bolt in job. Any from 96-98 will require the exhaust manifold to be changed as well.

Best/Favorite windshield wipers and source?
86BRATMAN replied to mountainwalker's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXTo be honest, I work at a ford dealer, and the motorcraft floppy wipers are the best I've ran. Not sure what any other place would sell them at but my parts dept sells them over the counter at ~13 bucks depending on size.

Hi ho hi ho, its off to the shop the PITA goes!
86BRATMAN replied to TYLER R's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXSome people do not have any sympathy. They bandaid the problem and pass it off to the next guy. I can't say thats what happened to you, and I hope it isn't, but if it is karma will work its way back to the seller.
