  1. I did the ones on my 95 wagon as prescribed. Never had a problem from them.
  2. I would probably attempt it. But have something availible as a backup plan for towing it just in case it doesn't make it.
  3. I have a feeling once the "Watchmen" see this thread the joke will be up... To the OP, does the car have any symptoms other than the CEL? Most large name auto parts stores will check and clear the codes for free. Might be worth a trip there to see if its just an old code still lingering.
  4. And changing them was your answer. But the quality of parts used when they were replaced can cause the problem to persist. NGK plugs should always be used in these motors, with new OE or magnacore wires.
  5. What brand plugs and wires did you use. These motors are sensitive, especially to pulg wires.
  6. He's got everything he needs on his parts Brat. Just looking for any additional avice from what I gave him a while back.
  7. Every last factory hood scoop on a Subaru since 2002 has been on a turbocharged model. These scoops have an intercooler sitting under it. The function of the scoop is to feed air to the intercooler to cool off the heated intake charge from the turbo.
  8. The mounts can visually look ok, but still be torn apart. I had a set of the round style that fell apart when I took out the motor on one of the legacy's. If you stand over the motor and rev it up manually, does it seem like the engine is twisting off the crossmember excessively? If you can get under the car you can inspect the tranny mount visually, and also jack it up some and see what the mount looks like when put under stress.
  9. It will take some time. Not something to blindly jump into. The biggest part will be finding the parts, and getting everything ready. If you know ahead of time what needs to be modified then you can have an ej22 in place in about a weekend(if you are motivated and mechanically inclined). The details of what is required for the ej swap is in a write-up in the retrofitting forum, and I think also in the USRM. It does leave a few things uncovered, such as ej tranny mounting, and driveshaft length. But we can help you figure that stuff out too
  10. Can you tell what area the thunk is coming from? I've drag raced a couple wrx and STi cars. They all have a thunk from the rear end when hitting gears.
  11. That should look pretty good then. The dsm reds are pretty nice. Maybe give it a silver pin stripe to split the two colors
  12. Is hyper white the same color they put on the supra's? If it is then I'll agree on that color looking good. But I've got mixed feelings about red cars. Only ever seen a few that can sport red and look good. (like Rob's XT:slobber: :slobber: )
  13. Take some time with it one day and use some good cleaning stuff. Wax it up real nice. Bucky and Quido should be the same color. Ok... This is what Bucky will look like sometime soon(minus the crappy job of chopping the wheels on with MS Paint:cool:
  14. The "Jesus Hatch" picture is too funny...
  15. Yeah... That is gonna be interesting... I'll have to see who will be cheaper to send them through.
  16. ^^^ I wondered that myself... Its not a 98 RS we're talking about...
  17. I myself am about 160lbs. I haven't had much luck getting things loose by jumping on them either:-\ ... I didn't want to suggest this earlier because I was being hopeful... But I have to use my 4lb mini sledge to "finness" the struts loose...
  18. Are you gonna color match it to the Brat, or leave it white? Either way it looks good on there.
  19. You're looking at the same part list for the n/a ej22. Just with the gaskets for the up/downpipes. And the hoses for oil and antifreeze to the turbo.
  20. The sedan is definately better looking than the wagon/hatchback whatever you want to call it. I was hoping to see one in person today when I went by the subie lot here. But they haven't gotten the new impreza in yet. Please tell me that the STi model will be the sedan.... PLEASE
  21. Are the strut tops loose or completely unbolted? Got any penitrating oil you can spray in are the bottom of the strut to help break it loose? Or if all else fails, got full coverage insurance, gas and a lighter?
  22. Did the Brumby's not come with that style dash down under?
  23. I can say they did actually go back about 30 years to the gen1 era on the headlight stuff.
