Good job on the convert. My convert story. I was at the drag strip with my WRX. I met this guy from my town with a built up pontiac gtp. It's pretty fast. I kept beating him though. He waas cool about it. He asked a lot of questions. Just seemed like a car guy. Anyway weeks later i was hanging out at a local street racing spot. I know, I know. Well this guy pulls up. He wants to run me on the highway. I denied him as i rareley race. I don't want tickets and really don't have anything to prove. He bugged me, so i said i owuld take him for a ride. He agreed. So I scared the crap out of him on a couple of highway ramps and a couple of lone pulls on deserted highway. 2 weeks later he bought an impreza. He said he was so impressed with mine that he had to buy a subaru. It is just a base model awd impreza for his daily driver. Kinda cool.

Td04 is too small for the 2.5 block. Vf 30 at least. Youll need 550 cc's for the 30. You evidentlly are not looking for 400whp, are you? 400 crank even you'll need a 18 g or bigger Btw i have a SBR 20g that is brand new in the box. It makes 350whp on my wrx. (2.0) I''d let go of it for 700. No coolant lines but i have the oil feed line. Let me know if your interested in that, or not.

Legacy drivetrain components on EA81 suby?
WRX2FFU replied to zyewdall's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well as far as the front axels go......... You can use 93-94 impreza FWD 5 spd axels. They work. I have a d/r 5spd in my 90 leg. That helps some! Also like 88HM said earlier, you'd lose ground clearance because of the difference. In suspension parts -

Thanks for the comments guys. It was a blast. Can't wait to do it again. SOON! I am gonna get a little bit more daring once i know i have someone to get me out in case i am stuck. There is some BAD crap where i was there and it had just rained for two days. In one of those vids there is a puddle to the right. I know from running my bronco through there, that puddle is about 5 ft deep! And it gets worse the further you go. In areas back there guys with lockers and 44's have gotten buried to the windows. :0 BTW this is about 1 min from my house. YAY! The guy doing the vid has a lifted cherokee that is tore apart in my garage. Hopefully in the next week or two he will have it done and we will go back and get some more footage. As for how clean it is, well. I don't know i tried to get it dirty. I wa surprised it stayed as clean as it did. Also the car did awesome. What little i did there was not pushing it in any way. I now have a good idea of what it may be capable of. Far more than i ever thought. The hardest thing to get used to is how high the car really sets. It is very decieving inside it. Plus where my bumpers are. Still need a spotter there. That will change though, maybe this winter. I have collected some free steel for some custom front and rear bumpers. Also i hope i can get some tsl's or SS mud tires on there too. Right now running BFG AT's. Sorry for the book. I am just really stoked!

Well i finally got my legacy off road. It's been an interesting journey. I bought it about a month ago. It drove home almost flawlessly 300+ miles. They day after i bought it, the front diff of the 89 d/r 5 spd. trans grenaded. I got two new front axels, and i got a new/used trans from a junkyard with help from members here. So it's in and been driving for a week or so and all seems to be good. I decided today it was finally time to take it offroad and try it out. It did extremely well. I took it pretty easy because i was there with no "recovery" vehicle present. So here are the pics and a few vids taken by my friend drew.

oh ok. i used a tire calculator and that had them at 26.5. i might try to fit 28x8.5 and see what happens. According to aa's site they have ej lift kits.
-
I think aa makes a kit. it;s expensive though. Lift blocks and a little welding time and some bolts and your there. Like i said i have a 2 inch lift a 98 ob struts. makes about 3 inches. really good fender/well clearence. i am sure i could get 27.5 " tires on it. or at least i'll try! I might have to modify the spring perches a little on the rear. the front seems ok.
-
I just bought a lifted 90 leg. It has two inch body lift( custom made) and ob struts and springs. Chux is right. It is running 215/75/15 which is a 26.5 inch tire. I can squeeze 27'x8.5 on it with the perches. I think i might look into modifiying some coil overs to fit to take care of the spring perch issue. I think with that, and some minor fender massaging i could get 29's on it. But i may have to lift it more. Not sure yet. It is definately lifted when next to a stock leg, and it has good ground clearence but definately not what an ea car is as far as lifts go. But is got an ej22 and mine has a d/r trans in it so i thinks it's worth looking into. I am going to be looking into it next year.

I am not even talking about 20w 50. The highmilegae oil is by valvoline. It's still 10w 30. It just hasmore additive crap in it to help the seats and stuff like that. Some other companies make it. It is a little more expensive along with the lucas engine treatment but cheaper than engine work. That lincoln has 400k on it now. Still no smoke.

that may buff out!

I think it would be neat if it works "well". My dad always said though......."If you want a racecar, build a racecar." The point is if you want an offroader that is remotely "jeep" capable, and want the handleing of a wrx on the pavement it will be very difficult. Good luck with it and post pics
