    welder?

I vote buy a good welder. It's really an investment. I have welded with a 220v lincoln mig and my 220v hobart mig (miller). They are both great with flux wire and gas. I have used a HF special and hated every minute of it.
  2. We have had a lot of recent "abs" hate threads in my local forum. I don't really understand the hate. I have driven and have cars with and without abs. My 02' wagon has abs and I have never had an issues with it at all. All of my subies are sticks so I rarely use the brakes to stop in the winter unless I am going less than 5 mph so I have nevr had abs issues. I do have good tires on all my cars though too.
  3. I would assume so. They are different though and I think to achieve the look of the car they had to do it this way. I hope the h6 is good. I am little worried about the power. It does build good low end torque so...Till I get it moving I won't know for sure but I do have a line on a small vortec SC that might fit in nicely. The idea is keep with the different theme. I think it will surprise people to see an h6 in this gen legacy.
  4. Thanks! It's out. Tomorrow I'll work on the wiring. Honestly the easiest subie motor I have ever pulled. 3 hours and out without killinh myself. Also tomorrow I want to "fit" the ea82 flywheel and get a template made for the D/R to EG33 adapter.
  5. They have a pic in their shop of that sedan with all four tires at least 10 feet in the air.
  6. If it's who I think it is. Traverse city. They own a shop called subaruguys. IIRC.
  7. Looks great! I had my lifted bf there a few years back and had a blast with it.
  8. Pic and vid of said svx. She runs nice. Gonna be nice for Godzirra for sure. Sound in the vid is bad power steering pump.
  9. Got the svx. Now Godzirra has a heart.
  10. No i don't. There will be zero suabru parts in my suspension.
  11. Only if the diff ratios match. I guess he could get a correct ea ratio diff... Trans mount would be different.
  12. Wait. I just realized your in NZ. You might have better access to the EJ series D/R right? And yes most of the ea stuff will probably go bye-bye.
  13. I would try to stay away from too thin a hg. Might see what sti pistons would get you. Might have to run the rods and crank too though. You could also have the engine and heads decked. A few thousands either way would help. I don't think you can use the sohc intake with the dohc heads You could try it. The wiring will probably not be complete. You might be able to use some of it but have to make a custom harness. Your gonna have a lot of research ahead of you. I am sorry for not giving you any concrete answers. I just don't know for sure becuase I have not done exactly what your doing. There are too many details that I will not have unless I researched/did it. Honestly your best be it just to try things and see what works. See if you can get used/junk parts to help make measurements. A lot of people have junk laying around that they will part with cheap.
  14. Looks great. Btw is that your glass jug o' shine for sippin' LOL!
  15. Becuase your heater motor has more dispalcement than the engine? Sorry.
  16. Some sell one. I doubt anyone would just give you a template. Pretty easy to make your own template though.
  17. Hell, you could just throw some pistons, bearings, maybe rods, maybe cams in your ej25 and use it. Or yes an ej22t would work too.
  18. Like most said driving style is part of it. That being said. I have personally seen 4 second gear and 2(one was ra gears) 3rd gear wrx 5spds grenade. These were not on shifts but just putting the pedal down and when the boost came on boom. These were not mine but close friends. Now with all that out there. I made 349 whp on my wrx 5spd. It ran for 45k with no issues. The motor went and I sold the car with a good trans. Now also Just for reference. I blew up a front diff in a D/R with an ej22(na). Like I said, I would just try it and see. Yes you will need an adapter plate.
  19. Worn ball joints? Especially with that mileage. They could cause the tire/tires to move at certain speeds. Does the front end "clunk" at all on bumps or un even terrain? This could cause funny tire wear as well. The car would also theoretically align fine too because the ball joints would be loaded down. ?
  20. Not sure on that one. I'd say no because stock 5spds on stock wrx's break. All you can do is try it and see. D/R's are cheap if you do break yours. If you could get an EJ d/r that might be different. Some of it will be how you drive it.
