Superlite Wheels
I would be all over these if they were 8 spoke, but I have the enkeis already, so I'll stick with those.

Rally Skid Plates?
Who would be interested in skid plates for non-lifted subes? I would be interested in one similar to the AA offroad plates but aluminum and built for stock ride height. Anyone else looking for something like this? If there is enough interest I'm sure we can get someone to start making them. Something like this but for EA81s and 82s: http://www.writerguy.com/primitive/skid.htm

The two peice driveshaft will be the right length if you weld in the carrier bearing. I had a custom shaft made so I wouldn't have to deal with welding, incase it is off at all.

90 Legacy AWD Malfunction
carfreak85 replied to carfreak85's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXMy friend says he has done a flush and that it hasn't done anything. The back tires will only spin if thier is about a 60mph diffrence between the front and back tires. when the back tires kick they instantly break loose.

So sedans ARE lighter!
Actually the GC8 2.5RS sedan was only 5lbs heavier than the coupe. My source is Sport Compact Car magazine.

EA81 Wagon Speakers
Looks GREAT!!! How did you stuff the speaker on the driver's side? Mine will only go in one way and even that is a tight fit. I like having the stock speakers so the fuse box doesn't move, I know its hard to tell, but I'm a nerd for factory appearence.

The Skidplate Cometh
Only two bolt holes in front? Is that going to hold up to bashing very well?

90 Legacy AWD Malfunction
carfreak85 replied to carfreak85's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXSorry, that last post was unclear. What I ment was that my friend can start to peel out with just the front wheels and then very gradualy torque will be transmitted to the rear wheels. The car is basically fwd until there is a large difference in speeds between the front and rear wheels.

90 Legacy AWD Malfunction
A friend of mine at school has a 1990 Legacy with a 4EAT tranny. He says the awd doesnt seem to be working. When he gets the front wheels spinning, then the rear wheels start getting torque and will move the car. He had to drive up to Mt. Baker last year in 2WD and wants it to work this year. We have checked that the 2WD fuse is not in its holder. What could be wrong?

83 BRAT WRX with EJ20T
I was wondering because I want to speed up my steering. The FSM says the stock EA81 power steering rack is four turns lock to lock. Just looking for something closer to 3 turns.

Turbo EA81 Q's
I still don't know if they work, but I'll find out evenutally. Thats the thing with the turbo cars and parts. You wont find anything for a long time and then you'll find the mother load only to wait for a long time again.

EA81 Wagon Speakers
Second on that one. I would have used 4x6s except that the ones I had were too deep for the passenger's side location and the driver's side location is a 3x5.

Turbo EA81 Q's
Funny, I picked up two ECUs from the red T coupe in the Lynnwood yard when I was there last. Anyone know how much of that car is left? I could still use some parts off it.

Ambitious XT6 project
Its very easy in old subes to do this swap. I did it in my wagon back in high school.

So sedans ARE lighter!
Think about it this way, the coupe has the big ole hole where the hatch goes. We can consider the hood/front fenders as one box, the cabin as another box and (on the sedan at least) the trunk as another box. That big hole in the coupe is cutting the top (trunk) and back (cabin) of two of the boxes off. This actually hurts overall structural integridy. Had a long talk about this with my prof in our auto program.

Hand throttle?
A friend of mine had that set up on his Jeep XJ and he could fill his 35s pretty quickly.

attn Pac NW: Chaplin's Subaru Entry Level Job Opening
DAMN! This job would be PERFECT for me! I live five minutes away, too bad I go to school in Bellingham, otherwise you would already have my resume...

Turbo EA81 Q's
Looks like I've been beat to the chase. The only thing I can add is that the turbo coupe was only avalible in 84, so it is the most rare. That being said, any EA81T is rare! Keep your eyes open, they pop up every so often for sale.

What steering rack are you using with the XT6 hubs? I would like the 5 lug hubs for my wagon, and was wondering how difficult it would be to reproduce these parts.
