My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
I bought both Rocker sides, $81 + shipping (Whatever UPS runs) Now, if I can find the spot welds and drill them out, this should be kind easy (Never did this type of thing before) I may or may not buy the Rear wheel arches, I might be able to fix mine, they are intact for the most part, just rusted.

They offer Subaru Sedan/Wagon for '80-'94 which are the EA81 panels from what I've read by others. I will be ordering these in a bit. The good point of this car is, the underside and the doors are solid. The main rot are the Rockers. This car is really solid in the wheel wells which is a plus, and the interior is like mint.

I'm thinking of buying some tune up stuff either today or tomorrow, is there a brand to stick with for the Points? Also, is there one or two? I haven't really looked into any of it yet. I'm going with NGK Plugs/Wires, YEC Cap/Rotor, Full fluid change, Replace some vac lines, Air filter, Gonna rebuild the carb sometime (I think this might be the main cause of the spitting) I also need to replace a hard fuel line that rusted through lol. I need Brakes, I can't wait to get the wheels off and check things out. I would like to start dropping some of the suspension and such to address any rust and seal it up ect. Project! At least it does run and drive reliably

Fix the rust, get some Pugs, Possible lift. HIDs, LEDs, Full tune up, complete motor/driveline refresh. Try to keep it solid. I will need to buy those rocker replacement panels for it, anyone have a link to them? I thought J.C Whitney offered them?

This bumper would look BA on an EA82!- My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
Haha yeah that F*cking bike rack LOL! It would be era correct. What is a Jerry's Kit Shifter? So far I like the 4spd. I can do 55mph at little over 2000rpm in 4th. Clutch needs replacing soon, if I put my foot down, it slips. Oh well. It needs brakes and I need to replace a hard fuel line that runs under the rear set through the body. (Like what you did to that XT6)- My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
I took a few minutes and looked thru the glove box, WOW! I have the original receipt from when the Dealer installed A/C! Also a like new Owners manual, Some unopened packet of Subaru papers, Brand new Tow Straps, Some Handsfree Tire Inflator, Service Book, Book of Matches (Which I lit up all at once for fun) Subaru Tool pack, and somethings I am forgetting. The interior is VERY clean and undamaged, its almost at perfect as my Loyale. This car is f*cking cool as hell! Looks great in the driveway!- My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
Awesomeness.- My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
Thats cool, grab it and let me know what you want! I should be able to swap my cable/handle onto the new one. First I find the release handle, I have no clue where it is lol! EA81 body cars are to weird lol.- My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
From what the guy told me, It was only for a Ski team. Some Foreign team did once own this car, and had the Decal applied. Someone might want to verify this as I am unsure about this type of thing. I forgot this thing has Points lol! Now I'm old school y0! Should I swap this thing to Weber? Or is the Hitachi good on the EA81s?- My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
I am having the name of this thread changed to correlate with the car. So this will indeed be the Official thread.- My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
Thats pretty awesome! There a few things I need for this car, Like Hood latch assy, The locking mech is crap, and the latch on the hood is missing. It had hood pins. But I'd like to fit it right. The car has Wagon wheels with nice Center caps. I will play with the car tomorrow, take a list of genuine parts I need and will PM you etc.. I'm feeling really good about this car, I'm excited as hell!- My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
Will do so tomorrow.- My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
Turns out I bought the '83 Ski Team car. It is in way nicer shape them the pictured showed. Interior is mint (Black and Blue) Auto Choke EA81. 137,384 4spd D/R It'll need a clutch soon, 3/4 way out then clutch grabs (Slips some if you put your foot down in 4th) Rockers are pretty rotted, but everything else is solid. Really decent car for $1,200 (Sure better then that GL-10) For sure!- My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
I am trying to find a decent old gen, as thats what I want, and two, I could keep this thread going (Since there is some good info and links already posted in here) So far my options are '83 Ski wagon D/R 5spd $1,200 (Unseen) '92 Loyale 5spd 253,000 $800 (Unseen) '87? XT-Turbo 5spd (MonsterWedge) Needs Disty and TPS and its clean. Craigslist holds little options in WI lol.- Subaru ACX-II XT6 Prototype
Subaru Loyale (ESPON Edition)- Subaru ACX-II XT6 Prototype
Dot matrix to keep it era correct?- 1984 GL Wagon Fwd Build
Hmm, I wonder if these would pop into place on Steal pugs? If so, I want a set in Black for my EA82!! Where did you see these? Ebay?- My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
I remember there was a 70s Ski team car for sale out in East Troy for some redonkulous price, maybe 1-1/2 years ago. Which if I remember right, was rotted rather seriously. I think I might call this Ski team guy again next weekend and see about looking at it, and then rule it out if need be. I think I might have been a little to hasty to say "I'll pass" without actually looking at it. Doh.- 2003 Baja Sport
Whoops. Either way, looks good! Like the Tanneau cover!- 2003 Baja Sport
Is this the Baja Brent brought back from WI?- My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
The one thing you have to remember is, there aren't a lot of people who know what these cars are, and would also think the Ski team paint job is ugly or just to strange. Also most people don't want an '83 Station wagon, except for some poor kid who buys grandma's GL in place of a WRX cause its a Subaru and my Turbotronics Turbo has to fit on this. If its not an Outback, then people don't know its a Subaru. - My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
