  1. Is the passenger side front damaged? It is really clean looking though! Nice score.
  2. That is what I was kinda thinking fan wise. I don't thing they had this style of fan blades back in the 80s. As for the PS, How much difference does it drive with the Manual steering? Its a light car. In some ways, I would mind eliminating the Power steering pump/rack on this car, one less belt, and more space!
  3. 34 people don't have a clue either..
  4. Anyone love how cracked the V-belts are? Wow!
  5. So, obviously I need a new lower rad support. Here is the new Rad! $140 from Parts-hut. Want to get a metal threaded plug for the port in the side vs the plastic one they give you which doesn't seat flush. Old Rad. Easy to work on now! Some stampings? New WIX! The Power steering pump is kinda in the way for a lot of things. Are both of these Genuine? Why is the 2nd one held together with Zip-ties? Air cleaner all painted.
  6. Indeed they do, it also have a picture, but I have no clue what they look like. $65 for a Heater core! I would expect $130+, maybe thats only GMs
  7. I'm not real familiar with the motor from this car, but if it has a Timing belt, I would ask the seller if he ever serviced that. If he has no idea, then I would see about checking it out before logging a lot of miles on it. Post some pictures and info if you buy it!
  8. That post actually made me laugh out loud! And is down to a tee.
  9. Replacing a rear transfer clutch in a 4EAT isn't too hard, but replacing the reverse clutch is. Which is why I just dropped in a lower milage $400 trans.
  10. Hmm, I've said this about almost everything on my wagon... Welcome to the elite owners club!
  11. Ah, I've heard many stories of failed rear transfer clutches during continuous off-roading/extremes. The 4EAT is a pretty bullet proof transmission, mine had 225,000 on it when the reverse clutch pack went (Why the reverse clutch pack out of the three?) Although, mine still has the original Duty-C and Clutch pack (Amazing!)
  12. I found this on ebay. The guy lists it for the DCP306-11 to 16 but not the 21. Will this still be the correct rebuild kit for my '83 DCP306-21? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Carburetor-Kit-For-Hitachi-Carbs-Model-DCP306-11-12-13-14-15-16-/221010465795?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3375401403&vxp=mtr#ht_500wt_951
  13. Ah, I forgot you did a Weber install on that motor. I think is the route I'm gonna go on mine. I can't find a rebuild kit for it.
  14. No Automatic does, although, Autos are better for towing. I've seen an Impreza pull an XT6 about 15miles. At one point on an uphill road, the clutch was burning. I pulled the same car with my 4EAT 4.11 Legacy with 16" wheels, had no complaints from the motor or trans what so ever. Don't know if I'd want to pull anything with the 3AT and the 27" tires, might be to much load.
  15. What were you doing to do that? Trannys don't just fail for driving them, even with slightly oversized tires.
  16. Its a Toyota, it'll run forever. The Tercel 4WDs aren't bad machines, they are dependable and easy to work on, the I4 will be extremely fuel efficient, you'd be looking at upper 20s for MPG if not more with a full tuneup. If the rust hasn't eaten most of it away, I would consider it a decent option.
  17. Make sure you get the one without the O2 sensor port and one with the Heat riser instead. You still have the heat riser on your EA81, right?
  18. I know about restricted EA82 exhaust, Before I replaced the Header/Y-pipe and Midpipe on my EA82 is did not have really any power (Couldn't even get past 55mph easy) I then cut the muffler off, and wow, there was such a change, more power/torque, can drive 75mph fairly easy. So a plugged cat and poor muffler are indeed issues that can change the performance of the SPFI EA82. Back to the GL, I bought boot clamps today, and some cutting discs. I am going to try and get these rockers done soon (If the weather would cooperate)
  19. Heres a picture, showing the rear "Straps" This is a 2" kit. Installed: Strut turned around (I did not want to just turn the tophat around)
  20. The rears have to be bent into a 45*, the rear coilover needs to be turned around as well.
  21. It has a 4" lift, but it looks really good. Reminds me of the sporty Hilux of the 80's.
