MY quest for ground clearance. pics!
You would be surprised how poorly a lift kit could be made, and still work just fine. I seen stacks of washers used 3/16" would be the optimal choice if you are buying it, if you are getting scrap for free, take what you can get as long as it'll work.

Subaru Brat Hotwheel in the works?

Why? Having trouble entering your VIN into the claim your badge page? You will need a VIN from a newer Subaru like this: 4S3BG6855W6642128

If I remember right, the correct backspacing on Stock Subaru steelies is like 5"

They will probably stick out way to far, and would require extra cutting and bashing for turning lock/compression.

Chevy didn't change their Backspacing to much, so they are probably the same as the White spoke wheels found on a lot of the 1/2 trucks. Which look like this:

85 wagon resto/build
I got mine off Rockauto $5/per. But yes, front axle boots will also work. (This does not apply to Legacy-Up)

The GR-2s are great struts! I liked mine, even on the heavier Legacy.

Don't have an metal supply lots near by? Best bet for cheap, good steel products. A chain store will not carry such tubing, and if they did, it would cost a hefty price. Cheers!

Strut on top, and a Deadblow hammer on the ground. Hmm, interesting...

I think mostly the older GM wheels are not, because of the Backspacing. THe wheels stick out pretty far. Most of these other ones should have close to correct back spacing. I know Dodge D-50 wheels are perfect, Nice and flush with the fender.

Eh, I'm not sure about that piece either. The bases of street signs aren't made from hardened steel. You could go with 1/4" if you are worried about strength.

1984 GL Wagon Fwd Build
There are no belts on the EA81. I know how to time any EA82/ER27 and tons of EJs.. Done many in six years.

My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
I finally got the paint on the wheels to blister up and removable. Now, I need to hit it with the wire wheel and then prime and paint. Also, where can I get a new Oil pressure sender? Mine is dripping oil out of the grommet. I found this one for $50!! WTF, isn't this a $10 part? http://www.redlinemotive.com/store/replacement/wizard.asp?year=1983&make=SU&model=ALL-4WD-002&category=P&part=Oil+Pressure+Sender

I was going to do this on my Legacy back in the day, but the 1st and 2nd gen Legacys use a different thread pitch on the cap. How did you do it with the EA82 cap?

1/8" steel 2x2 square stock (If you want a 2" lift) 1/8" should take the abuse.
