  1. A little off topic - I never bid on anything until the last closing seconds. Keeps the price down - and also eliminates anyone outbidding you in the final seconds.
  2. These solenoids also appeared on the Single Range gearbox models (switches box from FWD to 4WD)
  3. Damn right - I agree 110% I won't go into details about other forums on here - but I have found this a lot more informative and interesting to my "tastes". The people here are very friendly. There is the odd exception of a "My God I am so great" type of attitude from certain individuals - but they are easily ignored. I have bought more things off this board than any other - and NEVER had an issue with anyone in this respect. Of course there would be/are individuals that are exceptions to this rule. With any forum like this - these are opinions and should be treated with a grain of salt. I usually go by the Reagan saying "Trust but Verify". Overall a great forum!
  4. LOL okie then. But I know of some people that WOULD shoot the dog. And I agree with you GD - I'd be moving such an animal along if it continued with a wave of destruction.
  5. Interesting points of view. "Shoot the dog" is hardly what I would call an effective and humane solution. It is a dog - not a Harvard Uni Professor! I doubt it has the ability to comprehend just how seroius this is. Having said that - obviously the dog has some issues. I'm not saying the dog isn't at fault - but really.. killing it is hardly going to achieve anything after the fact. You have my sympathy - I would be majorily annoyed myself as well.
  6. Was this some option before the 6 gague dash came out or something? Do any digi dashes have oil and volts options? I'd like to see some pics too - good find!
  7. In Australia models the circled plate would be used for either electric mirrors or a manual choke. The one to the LEFT of that one is for foglight switch (or rear gate release) Did the switch that Monstaru gave you look like this? That is the XT6 unit - and it fits like a glove in there. I put a little green cap on the light inside the switch (it was white when I bought it new) to make it match the rest of the dash.
  8. Very clean example - need some interior shots there as well What are the plans for it??
  9. I am unsure if American Loyales do have the light (we call any EA82 an L Series) - but Australian Touring Wagons and Royales do in Australia. Still, I like your idea - quite good
  10. Well its not going to be nearly as bright as the one you have made.. put it that way It is switch activated (when you open the glovebox) to a constant power source. You could not have asked for a more difficult thing to photograph :-p The first shot shows where its screwed in - the second one shows the view from looking up inside the glovebox. Picture 1 Picutre 2 Moshem I think I have seen before that you have had trouble getting parts in your area for your car before. If you ever need help, give me a holler. Keeping in mind, we Australians have RHD cars - so not all parts are the same. Hope it helps
  11. Thats a good thought - would be interesting to read the international manuals - and how they differ from year to year. Unforutnately I can't help though
  12. Just a query - did your glovebox have the original "glovebox light" in the car? My 91 DL did not have one till I took it out of a Touring Wagon.
  13. No problem chazmataz. If anyone else is interested in another copy, I will keep my eyes peeled. I have seen them on eBay a few times before.
  14. PDF creation is not one of my big points (not sure about Suburpy). I'll go one better for one of you enterprising Americans and give you a lead http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Four-Wheel-Driving-with-SUBARU-in-Australia-1983-pubn_W0QQitemZ6613490586QQcategoryZ95133QQcmdZViewItem This book from the same seller is a good read too http://cgi.ebay.com.au/History-SUBARU-cars-in-Australia-INC-motorsport-RALLY_W0QQitemZ6613490464QQcategoryZ95133QQcmdZViewItem
  15. Yeah I have that one Suburpy - its a pretty good book. Has old Australian Subaru Clubs information in the back. Still pretty relevant techniques no matter what the 4WD.
  16. Isn't the one pictured the one out of EA81 models? I have an EA82 one here - they have holes for seat belts in them. Also was that panel of switches available on EA82 models?
  17. I am not the quickest of cats when it comes to gearboxes. Would this configuration retain the "lockable" centre of a Full Time box?
  18. Oh good - I won't be the only one in the world putting XT6 spots on an EA82. Those pics look pretty good.
  19. Hmm check your primary idle jet on the side of the carburettor (on the the side of the primary barrel) - it unscrews and you can pull it for from its holder. Check that it isnt blocked - they are a very small jet.
  20. I don't know mpg but I would be lucky to get 250 miles out a tank :-\
  21. Hmm this might be my problem. My weber uses a LOT of fuel. A regulator might be the go.
  22. Here's my Australian beast -: 1991 L Series DL Enduro, 2" Scorpion Lift Kit, King Springs, 205/75R14 Cooper Discoverer STT Radial Tyres, Clutch Type LSD, 14" Speedy Wheels, 4 wheel Disc Brakes, 2" Exhaust, 32/36 DGV Weber, 5 Speed Dual Range Next on the agenda is a Full Time Box with 1.592 low. Some more pics and a video -: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=2908
  23. Except a Legacy AWD does not have a Diff Lock... the EA82 Full Time Box does.
  24. I have purchased a factory spotlight kit and I am going to fit it. I just want to see how it hooks up in an XT6 - it will actually be going onto an EA82 wagon.
