Well, being that the fuel has to travel further before getting the the chamber's is my guess. This is a tunnel ram concept that dodge was doing back in the mid and late 60's. By giving the fuel more travel you loose response but the fuel has more time to atomise thus giving a better mixture and producing more torqe. At least thats what we where going for

My brother wanted me to add that he will make these on order Mark (541) 416-3643 Cell (541) 420-2328 Not sure what he's asking , if interested give him a call for more details

I honestly didn't think it was going to work, But it works well. My brother used a carbed motor, turbo heads and intake. Lost a little throtle response but gaind a fair amount or tourqe. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=5355 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=5354&sort=1&size=medium&cat=500 And yes, thats an early weber. ~CHIM~

Finally got a subaru club started in central oregon "High Desert Flat Rat's", Anyway, we did our second meet yesterday in a gravel pit, Lots of fun!! When we where about to rool up and head home i got the bright idea to jump my only running car/First subaru. Hit the hill at about 60mph or so with a sloppy landing! The guys said i landed on the nose and the tail swung around throwing me back into the air doing a 360 before hitting a large pile of gravel. It all happened so fast i didn't know what the hell was going on! Anyway, i have to retire my first love, 81 gl 1.8, wich of like 2 weeks ago got a 5-speed. Bent both back swing arms, struts, and frame from front to back bumper, She's alittle bananna shaped now. Funny thing is it has never held the as well as it does now:) But at least this gives me more reason to get my turbo on the road. Farwell to another subaru gone down in a blaze of glory, I'll miss her ~CHIM~

excessive vibration after tranny swap
CHIM replied to northguy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i Just did my tranny swap about 2 weeks ago, i noticed ALOT of harmonic vibration, Turns out it was my exhaust as well. I have a little more gear whine that my 4 speed but not an unhealthy amount. Might a small part of the tranny be rubbing on your floor pan, i had to cut part of my floor pan out to make the tranny fir without rubbing. ~CHIM~ -
DAMN! Thats just a death wish! Should i click my heel's 3 times and start wishing?

can an ea82 handle hydrogen power
CHIM replied to dragonwingsubaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
yes that was the idea of running the exhaust and intake togeather, but he was using water, jar was empty, till he filled it with water, Gave me a drink, used all of a few dropes of gas that he put direcly into the chanmber by removing the spark plug. No 50/50 mix, just water. I'll get more info on what he did. -
Sitting in the passenger seat (or have passenger do this) give the fan housing a good solid kick! What i used to do to get it working in the morning:)

There's no reason that making a vehicle that runs on water shoulbn't work. My brother who lives in prinville introduced me to and old man that he said "made an engine run on water". Of course me being very scepticle said " BS!". Any it was a 4 hp birggs lawnmower motor, The old man set it on the ground fully assembled and hooked a jar up to the fuel line filled it with his garden hase and told me to take a drink. After i confirmed that it was just water he pulled the spark plug and pored a small amout of fuel gas in it. It poped a few times and died. After doing this a few times the damg thing started!, and ran about 15 min. or so until all the water was gone. So i have seen a motor run on water completly conatined without the use of a power source, Don't even begin to ask me how it works, He tryed to explain it to me but i wasn't really following him. "Talkin a bunch of science stuff" i dunno. But i do remeber that the exhaust and intake where sharing what he called " a reactor" he said basically the heat produced by the exhaust is what seperated the hydogen from the water and that he had to start it with regular gas to start the heating process. at the time of talking to him he had plans of applying his desighn to an old corvair he had. But now that there are people showing interest is this i now have a reason to go back on check up on his project. I think i am going to get video of his lawnmower motor running just to prove im not full of ************. "givin he lets me" I'll post what i find out. -
Ok, im sure this has been covered before but i have a few question on the process. Ok the car is an 84 turbo wagon with auto. 1. Any need to cut out the floor for room for 5 speed? 2. How do you mount the carrier bearing? 3. how do you mount sifting linckage? 4. EA-81 or EA-82 flywheel?, also wich release bearing? 5. EA-81 or EA-82 axles? 6. Wich tranny mount do i use?, Old auto, or 5 speed Stock mount. 7. Is the speedo gearing the same on 5 speed as auto? Sorry for all the ********************* questions but i am diving into this can VERY soon and don't really wanna do this project blind. ~CHIM~

I was told in another post that the subaru sport mags won't fit on my 87 RX, Is this true? (No harm in getting a second opinion). If this is true is there anyway to make them fit? If if they can be made to fit what would this task include? ~CHIM~

I have the opertunity to pick up a 76 sport coupe (yellow) in pretty beat up sape, No motor/tranny dents all over, But has "Sport Mags" on it (at least thats what the guy called them, also said they came off a 74). The guy only wants $100.00 for it but i have no room for a dead car in my appartment complex so i will be needing to get rid of the car. What i would like to know is are the bolt patterens the same as an RX and are they worth the pain in rump roast to get rid of the car? ~CHIM~

Damn, to bad you don't live closer, I do powdercoating. I agree with styles, powdercoating is the way to, ALOT more durable than paint with alot better finish that will last the life of the car. ~CHIM~

My bro drove it and said the thing pops wheelies really well:) He told me it was a 2.2 but im thinking it's a 2.5 Turbo. This is probly one of the coolest things i have ever seen, Im going down to prineville tomarrow to pay off a speeding ticket, My brother said that he's working tomarrow and i might possiblt get to driver it! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...bayphotohosting ~CHIM~
