Leone diesel!!??
Right Matt, inline. But I think that IF U are going to put a D. into a roo, the VW IS the way to go. I would use the oil pan, pick-up, ect. from the Vanagon and mount it the same way. Would give ALOT more clearance under the EA81 & EA82 hoods.

rear mount tire rack?
Go look at my TWB Fabrications site I have pics of tire racks and bumper racks there

Built a roof rack (pictures)
Shiping is not as bad as U would think. (I ship 1-3 of them a week) But it can't be all 1 pice like that to ship it. Has to have some way of breaking down. I don't want to give away ALL of my trade secrets, but if U have ever seen 1 of mine U will see how to make it just as strong, but still break down. That's very similar to what I sell, but I don't recomend using the stock rail mounts any more. They like to start pulling out of the roof when U get a load on the rack, and they will not suport as much weight as the rain gutters will. And that is a NICE RACK Just had to get that in there

Can U say "Nissan transfercase?", I knew that U could I have a spair 3.90 diff. (welded or un) U have a lift in allready, just get the 'case and some drive shafts and then U will have D/R
-
I'm baaaaaack
So now, what's the deal? Are U going to D/R? Did U get the parts U needed? Or are U going back to S/R? (or should I say "staying with S/R")

Downpipe question
I tosed mine when I made my new down pipe. Never had a problem. I tosed ALL the heat sheilding, turbo, down pipe, x-over pipe, ect. The engine ran about 15* cooler with out it

Ist time clutch job.
IMO it all depends on the time U have, and the tools U have. The last one I did I just pulled the rear drive shaft, knocked out the roll pins in the front axles, and slid the tranny back enough to get the cluch/fly wheel out and did it that way. Not hard at all, took about 3hrs start to finish with Adam NDJ helping me. And there was a LOT less stuff to mess with that way. If U have the time and the tools (cherry picker ect.) to pull the engine, then it would be a great time to pull it and adress any other issues it may have. Just my $.02

Wires from dizy?
That's to eazy So it just gets it's power from the + side of the coil, and then sends the signal back to it on the - side!?!?
-
Wires from dizy?
OK, I'm getting ready to strip out EVERY last wire from my EA81 wagon and make a new harness for it. But I need to know where the 2 wires from the dizy go to My harness is soooooo bad that I can't even trace them out Also, is all the ignition housed in the dizy, or is there an ignition box hiding some where that I haven't found? This is on an '82 DL wagon.

Valve adjusting intervell?
How offten do U adjust the valves on a solid lifter EA81? And what do U set them too?

86 GL Wagon...what to look out for.
1 shifter = single range 2 shifters = D/R Look @ all the CV/DOJ boots, look to see if the cam seals are leaking, look @ the oil to make sure it's not grey (duh). I would say with that car what U see should be what U are geting, not to many hidden problems that I know of with that year/mdl. Happy hunting

ok. I really need help with this...
When my '85 turbo had that problem it turned out to be a bad conection @ the coolant temp. sensor for the computer (not the one for the gauge) I cleaned it and put some dielectric grease on it and I never had that problem agan.

87 GL 4WD Q's
My step dad is geting a 10-87 (I'm gessing that makes it an '88) GL PB 4WD Auto wagon. Being as he knows little of Subarus, and I don't want to drive the 120mi right now to go look @ it I have some questions. 1) what are the odds of it having FI? (it's a CA car if that makes a dif.) 2) It's still 4WD, not AWD right? 3) how hard is it to change out the head-liner? 4) is an '87 a 3AT or a 4AT?

Welded diff people.....
The intended use is to cap the open end of tube, like the feet on a folding chair, cruches, step laders, bar stools, ect. They have them that will fit over the air quick conects that I use on my on-board air sys. too Big-R- is hardware/farm suply store. But I have seen similar things @ Lowe's before too.

Welded diff people.....

My sis and her hubby live there, the cost of living sounds OK from what they tell me. And from what they say the crime rate isn't so bad (I thought it would be )
