  1. how long are you staying? I'll be coming down on Sunday, the 15th and starting the install of my new Allied Armament lift on monday, I'd love to meet up with you, and see that imp!
  2. Nice!!! Is that yours?!?
  3. Do tell! What tranny? What happened, I'm running RWD temporarily, and want to know if I should be afraid (I probably have MUCH less power than you do)
  4. or a garage day! I'll be doing my lift/4wd swap that weekend!
  5. Awesome...keep 'em coming!!!
  6. looks awesome...and SOLID!
  7. yea yea, i know everybody asks about tires. but i want to hear what everybody's running. (maybe a good sticky) just what year/engine, lift size, tire dimensions (standard AND metric if possible), stock springs or not (accord, RX, ?), adjustable suspension?, trimmed fenders?, wheels, and anything else that might be relevant. so those of us putting tires on a lifted rig for the first time can have a bigger "square 1" from which to start. I like this write-up: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=198832&posted=1#post198832 but want more info about sizes. I've ordered a 4" Allied Armament lift, have 15" pug alloys, and adj. suspension, just need tires...
  8. It's not that cold!!! MSP is nothing, try living next to the deepest lake in north america! I have no advice....nothing you don't already know....dealers, misc repair shops.
  9. hmmmmmm.....there's an old stop sign in my parents garage........*lightbulb goes on*......
  10. My weekends in July are pretty much taken...but june and august look pretty open, so...
  11. Morgan, I am focused, I've got wheels, lift is on the way, exhaust, some extra parts, tow strap. the only things left are tires and bumpers. Anyway, I'm not very close, but it isn't far from my parents house (where most of my friends live, and some of them have trailers), so sending someone to pick it up would be easy. but I don't have a way to look at it before the auction ends. He says the grill, headlights, fender, and hood would need to be replaced, and the rust isn't very bad, very fixable. but that his scanner made the pictures come out crooked, I asked him for more, and we'll see. as for my budget, right now it's limited...to say the least. With the money set aside to finish my wagon, I'm left with only a few hundred bucks, for now. though when the pay period here at the school is over I should be getting a hefty check from some of the extra work I've done for the orchestras. I probably won't buy it, but I haven't seen any for sale in this area, almost at all, except that rust-bucket morgan found a while back. I'll get some more info, and see if any of my friend are down in that area in the next few days.
  12. Anyone have any insight on this ebay brat? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6467&item=4544107590&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW I really want a brat, and they're hard to come by in this area...those of you brat guys, or just somebody who knows a bit more about the structural makeup of these. Does this damage look repairable? Any of you guys in the cities, or souther mn want to take a look at it for me? Kurt, you're down that direction aren't you?
  13. nope, never heard of anyone stripping out their transfer case doing this, it seems to have been designed to take 100% of the power either way. the guys running a second, devorced t-case run it off of the rear output on the tranny alone, then have a seperate, external front diff below the transaxle. and I haven't heard of any of them damageing the subie t-case.
  14. I use Napa reman'd axles, they come with a lifetime warranty and aren't very expensive after the deposit from the old one. If you break it, you bring it in, with a receipt and they give you a new one. And I beat the crap out of my axles, and have broken both front cv's, but only the ones that came on the car, not yet those reman'd ones, about 10 months on one too.
  15. Zap...not exactly "ozified" anymore are we? Just pulling your leg, they look awesome!
  16. sorry man....I didn't know we were leaving, then I realized that chris and martin were warming up their cars...and I don't know my way out of there, so I kinda had to take off. BTW: that guys name is Fuji here are some pics that martin took (mine didn't turn out very good, way too dark. And a bit later (after broken front CV )
  17. that is my thread...still running just a Y-pipe, but disabled the ASV's as described in both threads, and running the Y-pipe of my loyale, which has a good cat, and may be of slightly different design (since it's for an FI motor, not a carbed one). the backpressure of a good cat, instead of a rotted out one, helped a TON.
  18. I made it home just fine...but as I was turning around in a gas station down the street, I blew out my front CV (the one that was clicking badly when I pulled in/out), just popped it in 4WD and drove home, then pulled the axle and did a few brakestands....pics/video to come! Good to see everyone!
  19. I too would like to know (sorry for the lack of insight...btw), as I blew my CV last night, pulled the axle when I got home, and have been running in RWD all day....kinda fun, will probably drive to duluth tomorrow on it. I also do alot of mudding, so I will be getting a new front axle, but should I keep the stub around for future use? or return it towards the deposit...
  20. I love the wagon! looks even better in person. and so does the brat! (that's right, kurt did show up, not long after you guys left...) also....remember that noise coming from my car as I pulled in? well, let's just say I completed my RWD conversion...
  21. July weekends are going to be pretty busy for me....
  22. it's been said, but I'll say it again...relays...gotta have relays just wired up some combo fog/driving lights on my bumper, used some radioshack spst toggle switches instead of the included spdt switch so I can turn them on independent of each other. I love offroading at night, for some reason I find it much more enjoyable than during the daytime.
  23. ha ha, no, I'm in the cities at my parents house for spring break this week.
