  1. that's it, but if you've got the wrong diff in there, it'll do that when you're going straight
  2. huh, cool, I thought it just put pressure on the whole system, well, ya learn something everyday
  3. Our rear calipers are the same as a Nissan 200SX(?), with the exception of the rear e-brake, do a search for "rear ebrake", or something like that, for more info.
  4. it puts fresh air into the exhaust to make the cat more efficient, my cat's rotten, so I disabled mine, I disconnected, and plugged everything going into them.
  5. That exact same thing happened to me, well, I had plates, and it was on a backroad, but my drivers front wheel fell off, bounced down the road etc. NOW CHECK YOUR BALLJOINT, when it happened to me, it completely sheered the nut and end of the balljoint off, which I didn't notice until I tried to go offroadin, I got good and far from civilization, when it popped out, hyperextending my DOJ, and rendering the thing completely immobile. it wouldn't even roll up onto the dolly to pull it home, we had to jack up the car from the sides, and back the dolly under it. then it spent 2 weeks on jack stands in my yard while I rebuilt the DOJ, and replaced the balljoints (what the heck, while I'm at it, I'll do the other side too) this is an incredibly bad pic, but you get the idea, old one = right, replacement = left
  6. is it me? or did you angle the tops of the headlights in? Looks MEAN!!!
  7. this is as close as I came to offroading the loyale and just for the record, that pavement is not under my car!!!
  8. nope, no pics.....VIDEO http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photo...&cat=500&page=1 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photo...&cat=500&page=1
  9. yea, I remember the incident, I was wondering what happened since then, sounds like the salt got the better of it

No, it's not, I haven't a clue what he was trying to say
  11. You mean you don't know where my parents live?!? sorry, yea, they live just off of 19 in Maple Plain, we could come down that way, and then cut over to 494. were exactly is this coffee shop? I'm not too terribly familiar with the excelsior/tonka bay area, but my uncle lives there so I have a bit of an idea. EDIT: well a quick search on whitepages.com found it, I know exactly where that is, and it would be a fine place to meet (assuming of course that I can come). We could just head down to 7, over to 494, then off to Inver Grove Heights.
  12. AND, if you were to try to do it after, you'd have to have to 2-speed gearboxes, or run a driveshaft withing the transaxle from said gearbox to the front diff. So... theoretically (though I can't see a reason you'd do this) you could disable the 4WD part, and still have D/R FWD. huh....
  13. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds to me like the jerk you're describing is the clutch pack dragging the engine rpm's down to the same speed as the tranny, THIS is what causes wear, so by letting off the gas as it shifts to allow the engine to match the tranny speed will reduce the wear, and result in quicker shifts, though maybe not actually quicker accelleration. Another way to avoid burning up your tranny, is to not tow a utility trailer w/2 mattresses, a boxspring, 4 4X8 sheets of plywood, and a 40-foot (2 20-foot sections) extension ladder on the roof, the 2+ hour drive up to your cabin in your 3AT loyale (but I wouldn't know about that from personal experience................. )
  14. yep, FRONT springs from an 86-89 accord (prelude ones look the same, but I havnen't tried them yet) fit the BACK of the ea82 wagons (again, I'm not sure what else they would fit on, probably any Gl, maybe XT, etc.)
  15. YAY!! mine came today, now, just need to find a VCR..........
  16. My friend found this on a truck forum, and thought I'd enjoy it, so I though I'd pass it on to everyone here. http://www.stovebolt.com/gallery/alternate/lupton_si_1969_subaru.htm
  17. Is that were you're at? If so, this pizza shop is on the complete other side of the cities from us, we could caravan over, it's actually alot easier to find than I thought it would be. well, I'm out of the party, and it looks like we won't be going on a ski trip , but that means I'll probably be there we can work out the details as the time approaches
  18. I'm still not sure, the 1st will be much harder than the 2nd (annual family new years party, but I may be able to get out of it), but we may be leaving town before that, so it's still up in the air, but if I'm there, there will be the usual posse of 5 or 6 people (who may come anyway).
  19. I don't have your email, and the board says you arent accepting them, or something, anyway, here are mine 12" ultimatesubaru.org in white 8" 4WD in white "Roll Me Over" BTW, Great Job!!! lots of smilin faces on the freeway!
  20. OH yea! What ever happened with that?
  21. my friend just bought these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2494336295&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT for the motors and trannys, from that crappy pic, is it worth restoring one into an EJ__ powered baja bug? or maybe just a street demon. any thoughts? what kind of fabbing needs to be done? since he needs both trannys I'm thinking use a FWD tranny out of the donor subie. Or maybe AWD (ok, one thing at a time). Anyway what do you more experienced transplanters think? cost? I'll stop babbling now, thanks.
  22. crap, it's looking like I'm going to be out of town that day probably leaving new years eve for vancouver, then whislter/blackcomb as for location, we could meet anywhere in the cities, morgan, tony, what do you guys think?
  23. I'm thinking about this, if I buy HillbillyLes' injured wagon, and sucessfully fix it, I'll still have a good body, good D/R 5-speed drivetrain, and a couple crappy options for motors, but wait, my friend is looking at a 2.0T swap into his 2.2 impreza, hmmmm........ideas
  24. We should experiment with that, there has to be a way to make the terrain look BIGGER than it really is, no flat, I bet the best way would be on the ground right at the bottom of the hill hmmm.......$150? that's better, but still the adapter plates are quite spendy, but that makes it much more reasonable, maybe in my next wagon
