  1. You could post it in vehicle videos or non soob offroading
  2. Wow! Sorry but that's awesome! Yeah that's weird, I wonder what happened!
  3. yeah Greenley has it right! http://www.cartype.com/pics/4526/ful...decal_1_86.jpg
  4. They had EJ22 and beside them being interference they were good motors as they always were!, they did not have the same HG problems that the 2.5's had
  5. That's a wagon/hatch gas door. The Brat's actually came with a different one. The Brat looks good all leveled out like that, but it's sooooo low! But it does look nice!
  6. Maybe a wheel bearing going bad which is making it grind on the pad when the weight is transferred? Try jacking up on the corner that makes the noise and trying to wiggle the wheel.
  7. I think it means that there is a better chance of it being an EA81. But not positive on that.
  8. Yeah it actually looks like it's off to the side. If you can , get some more pics and search for that stamp
  9. Somewhere either on the top front passenger side of the block or near the back, there will be a stamp that says EA81 or EA71. I fyou could take a pic that would be great. Especially to show the placement of the starter
  10. The 2000 lb one would look the closest to the original but it wouldn't have much pulling power for the Brat. But then the problem you run into is that if you want a bigger one, it is just that, Bigger! So it wouldn't look like the original. But you would probably get more usefulness out of it.
  11. If you did what you describe in the above photo, you could then run a support of the back side of the bumper and hook it into something a little stronger to give it some strength
  12. I'm not sure. But I know that when I had a question about this one time, I called the dealer and they were able to look it up for me. So maybe you could try that? I mean I would think it would be the same, but of course I don't know for sure
  13. no none ever came with fuel injection, but you can do a conversion using the system that a Loyale uses. That's what I have and I love it! I have the stock pushrod, EA81 motor with the Loyale fuel injection system on it. A few others on here have the same set up. The hardest part is the wiring
  14. yeah I say if you are comfortable with your skills and building abilities, and have the tools, go for it! I mean you're already building your rig, why not make it the way you want it now. Instead of going back later. Have fun!!!
  15. No prob. Good luck!! I have recently seen a couple Brats on ebay from Texas, maybe check it out!
  16. yeah I know all about expensive insurance! I had a 97 Impreza when I was 19 and it cost $225 a month to insure!!! Ummm, whats the turbo that comes on a stock WRX? I can't remember. Or you could try to make a turbo from an older GL turbo fit. That would probably be small enough so that it wouldn't put too much boost into the motor. Or maybe one form an early Legacy turbo?
  17. Just out of curiosity, why does a different motor effect insurance? I take it you have to notify them of the swap? In the states you don't have to do that. We don't 1.6's in the us either. So I dunno, a complete swap would definitely be the easiest. If you want to bolt a turbo to the stock motor it probably would reduce the longevity of the motor. But if that's the route you wanted to go, you could probably pick up the parts from a parts car that is already turboed and swap the necessary parts into yours. Nice looking car though!
  18. Yeah if you get the setup with the dual range tranny attached, it will already have the starter off to the lefty a little bit. And yes it will all bolt right into place
  19. These combos came in all the generation 2 cars as well. Most any Brat or wagon or hatch will have the EA81 and 4 spd dual range tranny as well.
  20. Ok EJ is a motor out of a Legacy/Impreza and will require quite a bit of mod to fit. As far as I know yes an EA81 and 4 spd Dual range will bolt right in. Some of the '81's came with that setup so it should be a direct bolt in!
  21. That would be sweet too! But it would also be a bit more of a challenge because it doesn't fit too well!
  22. Yeah that's a lot! I bet you could have found a good used one of a wrecked car, or that someone upgraded from for a lot cheaper! But I understand the need for you car as well! At least it's good to go! Good luck with it!!
