GPS cubby mount for 05-09 legacy/outback
bratman18 replied to ryobi1's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI like it! I'd like to do something to make mine blend in a little better. But with the option of being able to remove it. Nice job!

Congrats on getting your car back!!

1981 Brat Lift Kit
Hmmm, if the starter is on top, I dunno. There should be a stamp on the enigine on the front towards the pass. side. It would either say EA81 or EA71. Check around for that stamp. Pics would be best

Air Suspension Replacement
replace with struts and springs from same style car that doesn't have air suspension! They will bolt right up.

seized up ea71....Why did it happen?
I had a friend that had a 2WD EA81 that blew a connecting rod out through the case. It kept running! Finally after several minutes the rod finally caught under the outside of the case and stopped the motor solid. Pretty cool!! I would love to see some pictures once you get that EA71 taken apart!

83 Brat Turbo Update
Yeah that's my fear. I mean the actual surface will be rock solid but how well did it bond to the sheet metal? That's the question

my wagon
The Legacy crossmember adapter/lift is something that someone should start making! Like maybe SJR. It would be an awesome mod and make fitting a lot of the newer stuff a lot easier! I would imagine that there would be some demand for it as well.

83 Brat Turbo Update
Yeah I understand what you're saying. I suppose it will probably last a long time. Just make sure the fiberglass seals down good! But I'm sure it will be fine. Keep us updated with pictures etc.

800+ HP in an STi?!??!
I dunno I have heard of quite a few builds where an STI is putting out insane amounts of power. As long as it's done right it will last. But you can't just throw a bunch of bolt ons and computer programs at it and expect it to last. But it is getting cheaper all the time to build these things into monsters! I'm not saying its really cheap, I'm just saying it's getting cheaper.

83 Brat Turbo Update
Just again make sure you don't just cover up the rust, remove it first! If you don't it will continue to eat away at the sheet metal! Good luck with it!

Heater core blew out!
bratman18 replied to 2.5GL's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYeah and that's where I work on my car as well, but, I live in a place where I'm not allowed to tear your car apart or I could get kicked out! So that prevents me! I have spent countless hours in the mud, rain, snow etc. working on my car and it sucks but I gotta do it, but I just can't now, so I have to wait for someone to have space available for me to work on my car at there place

1981 Brat Lift Kit
yeah I know these are possibilities but there are always options! He could go all out and if he had to he could swap motors. But I'm also pretty sure he said he had an EA81, that's why I said this
-
1981 Brat Lift Kit
yes! But if you could find a dual range tranny, it would swap in fairly easy!!

Carlise May 15-17th the East Coast Meet
I might take you up on that! We'll see once it gets closer, thanks for offering that up! I'm looking forward to it. There is still the slight chance that my wife and daughter are coming and if that happens we might just stay at a hotel. But I can't wait to meet people and their cars!

how to?
:lol:of what though? Is it a wagon? or a hatch? Does it have roof racks? If it has roof racks than you could rig something up to bolt onto or clip onto those securely. If not Maybe you could install some roof racks from a donor car and then rig something up. I don't see a way to mount to the roof unless you drill holes, and I dunno if I would do that unless you were mounting some racks.

Heater core blew out!
bratman18 replied to 2.5GL's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI agree but it's hard when you have no where to work on your vehicle. It seems like whenever I have to work on my car, there's 2 feet of snow on the ground or its raining etc. If I had a place I could take my car apart I would. But where I live I can only do oil changes or small projects. I don't like to use it but I have used it quite a few times and never had a problem and its made it so I could put off working on my car until I had a place and time to do it.

Carlise May 15-17th the East Coast Meet
Yeah I wish! I'm 6'4"! But it would just be the easiest. And I don't have a tent anymore! I might just sleep on the ground or something. I guess we'll see!

Door lock
The door locks are fairly easy to replace.
